    Psalm 11

Good to see you, Sir. It's so good to read the Psalms, and Scripture, day by day, prayerfully.

Atheist objections to evidence for God's existence

Hebrews 11.1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Why Was Cain’s Sacrifice Rejected by God?

I do believe that Scripture indicates it is all of grace, with all the glory to Him 'All of grace, yes, grace surpassing, Such a portion to bestow, But the love, all knowledge passing, Grace has taught us now to know. Love that bore the stripes and sorrow, Love that suffered on the tree, Love...

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

John 14.15. Paul also speaks at the beginning and at the end of Romans about 'the obedience of faith' and 'obedience to the faith'.

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

In the same vein, John 6 emphasizes both Divine sovereignty and human responsibility. "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6.37)

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

It's all part of the revealed mystery of the workings of grace through faith.

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

I guess some Christian young men and women might opt for a Bible verse tattoo in the spirit of Jeremiah 20.9, which you quote. Thanks for your comments.

Why Was Cain’s Sacrifice Rejected by God?

The Lord Himself does all the delivering; He "delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us" (2 Corinthians 1.10)

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

Psalm 40.2-3 is relevant also: "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord." It's...

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

My point was that our eminently trustworthy God is sovereign and He knows why, whether or not He chooses to tell us. I guess we can say about the Scriptures that revelation is revelation, and God is God.

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

Yes, indeed; and a thorough reading of the Epistle to the Ephesians may enable ppl to take this to heart.

Why Was Cain’s Sacrifice Rejected by God?

Well, exactly; this is a pivotal, revealing verse.

Why Was Cain’s Sacrifice Rejected by God?

It can't have been true faith that Cain exercised, in the sight of God.

An Ode for the looming Brexit situation in Great Britain?

Interesting that Max Hastings in his book in Churchill as war leader says that in 1940, lots of Conservative MPs didn't even want him as leader (yes, really!! in 1940), and by a number of them was viewed disparagingly. We do look to Providence rather than to human leadership, ultimately.

An Ode for the looming Brexit situation in Great Britain?

I knew an Anglo-Argentinian family in a similar situation also. This is when it comes home just how horrible war is, and often avoidable with the exercise of wisdom. Interesting that some of the leading advocates of the EU, such as Mr Juncker, say that the whole European Union project is...

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

Butterfly: So you remained strong until you, too, in time learned by life experience how tattooing could make you feel, right?
