Maybe there are so many aspects of the subject; and this will inevitably be reflected in the (developing) views that ppl will have? Meanwhile, many Christians, probably from a pragmatic point of view, know they are effective conversation-starters in witness and so this is substantially why...

Another term is Deuterocanonical, which means outside the canon...

I'm not Roman Catholic, either. Bible believing Christians have not usually held that every single pronouncement of the Apostles was infallible.

They do not automatically become Scripture if the Holy Spirit has not used them in inspiration; those men were not infallible.

@Cherie Faye Mora Easter (or whatever we call it) is late this year, isn't it? In some areas, Christians take the opportunity to use the public holiday for special meetings for Bible preaching and fellowship.

@Waiting on him PS: I must confess I am a cessationist in the sense that the Bible is now complete (unlike as in the transitional Apostolic period) and without sign gifts we have sufficient Biblical authority to declare the whole counsel of God.

Maybe ... and bearing in mind what you've said about your family ... these days it's just as straightforward and natural for men to pierce their ears as it is for women to get tattoos? (Make any sense?)

We do need to be careful not to pay too much attention to emotions... It's truth that counts, right? John 14.6; John 17.17.

@charity Seeing as ear piercing is referring to in some apparently positive contexts in the Bible, this former conclusion which you referred to would probably be viewed as rather far fetched today, don't you think?
