Do Catholics Talk to Dead People?

    Quite an imagination?

Do Catholics Talk to Dead People?

Wow, where do I start?...Saint Mary, Joseph, aaaah... Saint Anthony, the Patron Saint of lost items, the poor and travelers Saint Dymphna, the Patron Saint of those suffering nervous and mental afflictions Saint Jude, the Patron Saint of hopeless cases, and in things almost despaired of Saint...

    Shall we discuss this?

You don't think God was inside Jesus, doing the works THROUGH him?... 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Do Catholics Talk to Dead People?

Yes, I used to pray to dead saints as an RCC'er. The images they propped up represented them as we look to them or knelt in front of them. They even have church bldgs with dead priests in them.

Why is the bible so murky and confusing?

I think we are convoluted, not the Bible. We begin to read it with presupposition, then tweak it to say what we think it should say. The invention of hundreds of modern versions and thousands of closet Greek scholars is also evidence of that. Here is the bullet proof solution: Just get your...

    John Darby

Great post. I taught eschatology for over 30 years, but when I finally became open minded, I made some modifications when I saw some things did not add up. None of us are perfect in our beliefs, so we need to test them online to see if they stick. Debating ideas is the best Bible school...

    John Darby

You know, it is good to be objective. The bias we are seeing is some folks think only sinners are taken and the saints are not taken. No matter how many verses I show them about taken saints, they insist we are stuck here. They doubt Enoch was even taken before the flood. I have no idea why...

    The election process.

    King James Version Only...?

My wife and I met by eros(love), it became philia (love), now it is agape(love) after 37 years of bliss, with a little eros and philia mixed in.:)

    King James Version Only...?

If the KJV translators say so, yes. They are the last translators to understand ancient Greek precisely.

    King James Version Only...?

The originals disintegrated over 1000 years ago.

    Shall we discuss this?

The OP suggests the theme of the Bible is "God INSIDE Jesus". What is your opinion? We are saying that right now, the Holy Ghost is God inside Jesus...inside us.(John 14 and John 17).

    King James Version Only...?

    .....says the Bible skeptic.

    King James Version Only...?

You should know that eros/agape and philia mean different things, but one word suits them just fine, contextually that is.
  15. Truther

    King James Version Only...?

Depends on the context. The ancient English and the ancient Greek were the best mates for translating. God knew, so He arranged it.

    King James Version Only...?

Tell me which verses in your modern translations are the pure word of God and let's get together and build a Bible of our own.

    King James Version Only...?

They can mean differently per the context of the passage. Just like our language. All languages do that. Even Google can differentiate.

    John Darby

The son of man was made an omnipresent quickening spirit after he was resurrected from the dead. He will appear massively large and frightful to the world as per Rev 19. He can change his appearance in any size or visible look since God fully indwelled his spirit body.

    King James Version Only...?

You teach that the Church misses the wedding and supper of Rev 19, then meets up to return with Him somewhere.

    John Darby

And you dont get the rest... 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him... Did the Bridegroom take them AWAY with Him or not? You think the "thief"(Bridegroom) is coming to take the garbage out, not for the prized possession.
