PS: Although it's a widely used witness means among young Christians especially; if the person is not truly motivated to do it, best to stay away from it.

There are various varieties of Presbyterian; some do stick a lot more closely to the Bible than others.

Also to think it used to be only a man thing. Now it's also about being womanly. As you know.

1 Corinthians 11.26 is a great verse to remember: 'as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come'. :)

Many Reformed and Presbyterians are strongly Bible believing. One would observe also that among many Reformed and Presbyterians, sometimes the deference is also to systematic theology rather than to appeals to Scripture itself.

I agree. I agree. It's just good for people to have a historical perspective also, to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, when professing Christendom has strayed from the Word.

It's all God's Word in its rich variety. The particular variety in Philippians - the Epistle of Joy, one might say - is precious, among many others.

I do think that for today, to distinguish those who choose to get involved in ecumenical activities with Rome and those who for Biblical reasons do not, people might find the term 'Protestant' useful also.

It certainly can do; but as a general descriptive word it has also proved useful historically in relation to what people's attitudes to the Word of God are (even though today a huge range of error may be held by those who are nominally Protestant).
