The tribulation principle is indeed with us, while the Lord Jesus has gloriously overcome the world; though the great tribulation (Matthew 24) is a unique, future event that seems to involve not the church, but tribulation saints.

1 Thess. 4 is clear that the church is involved in the rapture. Tribulation as a principle now before the rapture (John 16) and tribulation on earth are distinct.
