A lot of Christians do it these days as well. Often it's the daughter or wife that is motivated to have it done first. (Do you happen to remember whether it was your son or his wife that saw the need to get limbs inked?)

Yes, studded or plugged lobes - with rugged studs or plugs firmly embedded - is a really manly thing to do, isn't it? (For whose home circumstances allow it, that is.) The idea of ear studs firmly clasped in a manly way is really wholesome.
