Anyone who argues that it’s not adoni in verse 1 isn’t being truthful. In Psalm 110:5 the Hebrew word is Adonai, as correctly reported. It is referring to Yahweh, not to the Messiah. God, in this verse, is at the human king’s right hand.

That’s a good take on the word. It occurs 195 times in the Hebrew Bible and is a non-deity title in all occurrences. In Psalm 110, Yahweh is speaking prophetically to someone, an unnamed person, who is not Yahweh. That someone, we learn in the New Testament, is Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah.
