Hello @Jonathan1, and WELCOME TO CB :kiaora: I'm glad that you found us and joined in the discussions with us :), and if you don't mind me asking, how did things go today (or yesterday?), your first day "on the job" (so to speak)? Please update us as time allows (perhaps you could do so on...

Hello @A shy girl Chloë, first off, since I see that you are a new member here, WELCOME TO CB:waves: There's a site where many of us (Christians) go if we have a quick question about God, a verse or passage in the Bible, a theological topic, etc., called "GotQuestions.org" (which you are, of...

Go here (to my reply to your other thread on Scripture memorization) Starting by memorizing select verses and passages will be very helpful to you (before beginning to commit to memorizing whole Chapters, Books, Epistles and/or the entire NT or OT, if you ever decide to do so). Again, check out...

Hello @chongjasmine, part of my discipleship training included the Navigators' Topical Memory System. It's a Scripture memory system that is, in fact, required learning by the Navigators for all of their missionaries. It's been used for almost 90 years now and is basically, with very little...

Hello Tulipbee, Lord's Supper and Holy Communion, yes, but I don't believe that Calvinism uses the name, "Eucharist", when speaking of the Lord's real (spiritual) presence in the Supper, does it :IDK: The Eucharist (doctrine of ubiquity) took awhile for the church to figure out and formulate...

Hello again Tony, the above is what I have come to believe as well (as it seems the most reasonable explanation). Of course, all of this, as you know, is based upon conjecture, so I'm always open to learning more, even though I realize that we may never for sure on this side of the grave. God...

Hi Tony (HAPPY NEW YEAR :)), why do you believe that we will not have such thoughts in Heaven? Will we have no memory of this life when we are there (Heaven/the New Earth) as Isaiah 65:17 seems to indicate? I ask because, if we have no memories of this life, what possible meaning could words...

Hi Tony, it seems to me that angels (if they have free will) could certainly choose to "repent" if they wanted to, but even if they did, they could not be forgiven because, unlike us, they do not have a Savior to make atonement for their sins. God bless you!! --Papa Smurf p.s. - HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

So says the Apostle John about Isaiah's throne room vision .. Isaiah 6:1-4; John 12:41. There is also this passage a bit later in Isaiah concerning the Lord Jesus. Isaiah 9 6 Unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TONY, et al :) Luke 2 8 There were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said...

Luke 22 66 When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying, 67 “If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe...

EVERY year :)

Q. What does it mean to “count the cost” (Luke 14:28)? A. In Luke 14, Jesus lays out the terms of discipleship. There were great crowds following Him. Everyone loved the miracles, healing, and free food. Jesus was cool, the talk of the town, and the latest fad. But He knew their hearts. He knew...

Hi Dan, all of our sins are atoned for at the foot of the Cross, but God actually forgives us/forgives our sins and cleanses us of them when we confess them to Him .. e.g. 1 John 1:9 (both when we come to saving faith, and throughout our lives as believers). We do indeed choose to stop or avoid...

Hello again Dan, the vital point that I've been laboring to make to you isn't, "if you keep believing, you'll be saved" (which is certainly true), the point is, did you ever start (believing, that is)? THAT'S the all-important question that you need to really think through and answer for...
