The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I want you to answer my question first. Was it wrong for Christian men severing in the army to kill in order to stop Hitler in Europe? If so, what do you believe they should have done instead?

The alternative would have been a million dead Americans, and that's a conservative estimate. Christian or not, when you're in a leadership position, very few choices are simple. What exactly do you think should have been done after Pearl Harbor? Nothing? I'm sure such a strategy would have...

It's not important for me. Humans kill other humans for a variety for reasons. It seems to be important for you though.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

If my real family took up arms against me, I would have no choice but to defend myself. Of course I would have an issue with it though. It's not like I would derive joy from it. Not without reprisal.

True enough. But there is a difference between a spiritual family and your real family.

He probably didn't like it, but he didn't intervene to put a stop to the war either. It was up to the men of that era to make decisions. If I had to guess, he probably thinks it's just business as usual. No. It didn't make a difference for me. I find putting an adjective in front of it hardly...

Okay. So some of them were Christian. It is regrettable, but that is the nature of war. Imperial Japan was not a friendly country, and frankly, they attacked us first. As I said, I think their deaths are regrettable. But as was evident throughout the rest of WW2, civilian deaths go hand in hand...

Yes. That's a picture of Japan after we bombed them with atomic weapons. They were not Christians, and the alternative, a full scale invasion of Japan proper, would have resulted in at least a million dead American Christian men.

It is only so because Christians have the force of the state to fall back on. Something happens, they call the police. But what if there is no police, or you don't have time? Protecting your family, including yourself, with lethal force, should not be considered a sin.
