    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

@TLHKAJ @quietthinker @PS95 Should a wife love her husband unconditionally? That is to say if he cheats repeatedly, is physically abusive, gambles all their money away? If yes, what does that look like practically?

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

In the King James Version, the word wrath appears 197 times. A quick search in biblegateway reveals God's wrath being active in many cases.

    Biblical Marriage Mashup

I feel like there are two errors married couples can fall into with emotional needs. One is to not address them at all and have pretend peace. What's more common in western culture is to make emotions king and forgo peace entirely. The term "happy wife, happy life" comes to mind. We don't...

If you reverse the genders, this joke becomes pretty ominous.

No. He is love. I just don't think His love is without conditions. I think any love is meaningless if it does not have conditions. God demonstrated His love toward us through sacrifice. It was so that we could meet the condition of being Christlike.

I think God is allowed to be love and still have wrath in His nature as well.

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

I don't expect my husband to listen to my problems without trying to solve them. I think it's a good thing that my husband likes to solve problems. I think a lot of husbands are this way. If I want someone to just listen without problem solving, Ill go to a female friend.

I believe God is going to act according to His nature regardless of how wicked people are. I agree there. His nature is good and that never changes. I just don't see Him offering special covenant with Him free of conditions. His goodness is what blesses the wicked, nkt necessarily His love.

God does send the rain on both the fields of the righteous but there's also this verse. Psalm 5:5 KJV 5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. I believe God's love is perfect and sacrificial. But love by its own nature has requirements. Israel was...

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

God has standards for husband but wives have no real control over whether a husband lives up to them. We can be critical, angry, and complain but this will not drive a husband closer to God. When we put the focus back on controlling ourselves, being respectful, joyful, thankful, loving and...

Hi @PS95 Are you saying you believe God's love is unconditional?

Thank you to everyone who has dropped by my thread. I am fine with disagreement. My past self wouldn't have agreed with me either. I enjoy the discussion.

Are the things put forward realistic? Do you believe husbands are supposed to respond this way? Thanks for dropping by this thread, by the way.

How do you believe a husband should provide for his wife's emotional needs?

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

The ultimate example of love. A love that is sacrificial in nature. It cost the Father His Son to love us.
