Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Well, yes, but he was not "Bishop" in the way that Catholics think of it in a worldly way. But it does seem he was singled out by Jesus and generally acknowledged to be chief among the apostles. Seeing how Peter was also singled out to have his mistakes written down I think Catholicism in...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

What are your reasons for thinking so? Paul had not been discipled by Jesus in person. He was the first apostle really to receive that gift the same way we all receive our gifts since Christ ascended to heaven.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

If that is true, no I don't believe that was a mistake or sin concerning foods...that is a matter of conscience (as well as perhaps also just habit and taste). The Law was fading away....God didn't command new Jewish believers to immediately stop practicing everything contained in the Law, but...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Sister, there was so much wrong with your post I didn't know where to start. I decided to comment on one thing you mentioned about the office of a teacher, and was going to wait on the Lord for whether or what to say concerning the rest. Amigo tackled one aspect, which I agreed with - it was...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

They chose Matthias by lot....which was a way of putting it in God's hands to choose. I'm not sure most of us are qualified to criticize what the Apostles did....it's above our station. It took another apostle (Paul) to rebuke Peter.

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

It makes sense to me that these things are a matter of "to the Jew first, then the Gentile". The Jew/Israel was judged in 70AD, but not yet the world (Gentiles). Because the scripture says not only is the gospel to the Jew first, then the Gentile, but tribulation and judgment also: Rom 2:8-9...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Believing Paul was in the wrong.......wow that is some slippery slope there. And Episkopos agrees with that. Noted. And I hope others take note as well.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I don't know how you think of it, but the word "office" (Greek - praxis) in new testament is simply the work (function) of a spiritual gift.........it isn't talking about an "official" role in a formally recognized kind of way, but is talking about a spiritual gift and its particular work as...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Yes, women are the weaker vessel. But keep in mind that it is because our feminine virtues make us that way. All part of God's perfect plan. But that in no way gives anyone an excuse to be misogynistic either, or to put down womanhood in order to play up to someone. Jesus was not...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I really doubt that the Lord, who created male and female in His image, and who is also called El Shaddai (breasted one) wants us to be misogynistic. Female traits apparently have value in His sight. Jesus welcomed and included women in His circle and the things He did, in a society under the...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

It is by His (Christ's) Spirit and nature within us.......not of our own, that is, not of our old man. Scriptures that say the following.........Christ IN us, the hope of glory.........no longer "I" who live but Christ who lives in me........we have this treasure (Christ) in earthen vessels...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Ok thanks. I think it is possible even on a human level to either be too empathetic or not empathetic enough....life can conspire to make a person that way. I wonder if empathy and compassion go hand in hand, as long as it is not to a 'dysfunctional' degree.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I nearly forgot....the bible says Jesus was touched with the feeling of our infirmities, being tempted in all ways as we are......and this was part of His being qualified to be our High Priest. But I'm sure His empathy was sanctified empathy. He was "touched" with it, but not overcome or ruled...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. The bible also speaks about being partakers of His divine nature, and He chastises us as sons that we might partake of His holiness. But it is all HIS holiness and perfection, not of our own. I don't believe...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Amen, set apart/separated from the world and unto God. And it does go hand in hand with purity...being a clean/pure/sanctified vessel. A prepared vessel in other words...prepared as a Bride. Before the Sabbath day of rest was a day of Preparation.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Perhaps compassion is empathy sanctified.....I'm not sure. Can you explain how the two differ?

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Lack of emotions, such as the ability to empathize with others, for example, is sometimes an indication that something needs healing.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

But God calls it rebellion doesn't He.....? If we look deeper I think we'll find that pride is at the root and bottom of it. Wanting to be as gods - our own boss. As Leviathan (Satan, serpent) is king over the children of pride. (Though it is certainly true that though we have emotions we...

Young rich ruler not saved, why ?

But it wasn't Satan who went away to receive a kingdom.....he fell like lightning and lost his rule to Jesus. And the money given to the servants is an allegory for the spiritual riches we have in Christ, which old testament material blessings was but a type/shadow of. Do you agree with OSAS...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

It sounds as though you tried to figure yourself out and though we may try, we can only go so far doing that. Better to ask God what the problem is, ask Him to shine His light on it....He knows us better than we can ever know ourselves.
