How many truths are there? One or multiple? If there's only one, and only one correct understanding of a scripture, then doctrines formulated incorrectly based on an incorrect understanding of the scripture, becomes a false doctrine even though derived from scripture.

If it's contrary to scripture, it's false. The problem is, most people, the vast majority, don't know scripture well enough to distinguish the difference.
