There’s no but. Just because Peter‘s use of the sword was not what Jesus intended doesn’t mean Jesus had no intentions for his friends to have a sword.

Do you consider knowing God to be an equivalent expression? Scripture says even the Demons believe and know God. Also, Scripture says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. How do you reconcile that with having no doubt?

This is a question I hate. Advocates say you should be 100% confidant but that doesn't seem humble to me. How confidant are you? What does that say about your humility?

The real Jesus is destined to be more violent than anyone who ever lived. He is just and merciful to God's elect. Other's will be judged. That too is Biblical.

Not quite the same thing as condemning his friends for already having a sword, is it? And don't fool yourself. They didn't have symbolic swords. Peter didn't cut the guards ear off with a symbolic sword.
