    Indeed. Well said,

    Hearing God's Voice

The circumstances I found myself in just before I 'entered His rest' for the first time, was an issue I was having over something I was struggling with, wondering why God was not supplying me with something I thought was very important. A need not a want. I had been praying and felt that God was...

Agreed if it is just lack of knowledge. However, when it comes to downright nastiness - yes that is sin. Making someone feel unwelcome by the lack of normal civility. For example, being told that this year there is no room at the table because to nieces are having their boyfriends for Christmas...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

I must tell the story of the last church I was in, where the pastor did not want me there, old sick woman, no support, not filling the collection tray, and likely a burden if anyone got involved. He wanted young people in the church and played the music too loud for us oldies. I think that is...

Yes I think that you are right - getting church leaders to understand is a herculean task, unless of course the Holy Spirit convicts them of sin towards the damaged brethren and that can take place in a moment. But as you say, they are more interested in other things, like attracting the young...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

I don't think this is certain. I am 74 and the healing I am going through is profound so that I am not the same person as I was 3 months ago. I think that when the spirit and soul have been healed by God, then the physical can go ahead much quicker.

Many thanks for that testimony marks. It is so wonderful to feel, as a Christian, one is not alone with this, and what God can do. I have actually been on the healing journey for 21 years, since I left an abusive marriage - had to flee for my life and have spent that time in healing from it. I...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

I am pleased to hear about your healing. I have no doubt that the Lord can do this without human intervention. You were very clear about it and I believe you. That was a very good link you gave. I thought she was very good...

Thank you PS95. It sounds to me, forgive me if I am wrong, that what God did was take you through a time of maturity, both in understanding the Bible better and in emotional maturity through showing you your heart, bringing the need for repentance and forgiveness, and praise God for the...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

Hi could you say some more about the way that Jesus set you free? Before recent revelations of just how much C-PTSD has affected my life, I would have said that He had healed me so I was in some sort of denial. A great deal of healing had taken place but this is much deeper. It seemed that...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

@Pearl I get the impression that the woman you spoke about had a history of domestic violence? This is accepted as PTSD if it was severe but it is not the same thing as cPTSD. However I agree with the church who said no public testimony containing details and it was on her own head for...

    Recovery from complex childhood abuse'

I have moved this discussion from another thread, if there is interest in the subject apart from marks and my self. It is a very misunderstood subject and not much is known about it in the church. I have found that church can be a toxic environment for sufferers because of this ignorance and...

    The social gospel?

I have found this person useful: She is a only a coach from an alcoholic family but she is very practical and down to earth. *moved to another thread. https://www.christianityboard.com/threads/recovery-from-complex-childhood-abuse.63793/

    The social gospel?

@marks "I've found that these surges of growth do in fact seem to be followed by ups and downs of intense slogging. I remain encouraged though knowing that this is real healing. Yes, it is really encouraging to see progress for myself. One thing that made a huge difference for me was finding...

The world's 15 crucified savior god's before Christ?

No problem for Satan to put things into the minds of men before Christ, so it looks like the story of Christ was just a follow on of ancient myths.

    The social gospel?

"Most of my life I didn't remember much from my childhood, mostly there were snapshot memories without context, some seemed just odd, some were of the bad times, not much made a lot of sense. A couple of years ago, over the course of a weekend, access to my emotional memory was restored. All...

That is so lovely that you have each other. I hope l can find a man with cPTSD.l have looked at the Amen clinic briefly. It sounds interesting. What l have been working on with YouTube video s, is recognising when triggering happens and stopping it. The most hea!ing thing though is love. I have...
