    Permanent Rebirth

You inadvisedly say, "There is nothing you can do to sin your way out of salvation", but OSASers squirm and churn about those who disagree with them as if on that score alone they have fallen from grace and lost their salvation. Heb 10:38-39 But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks...

    Permanent Rebirth

Not unless you apostasise, and change sides to believe there is no Holy Spirit and no need for repentance, forgiveness and salvation. Heb 6:4-8 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (5) And...

What are the Requirements for being a Christian?

Abiding in the Vine. Joh 15:1-6 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (3) Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken...

Thread To Collect Interesting Words & Their Meanings

I collect interesting words. I recently posted the word cathexis on another thread. It means the concentration of emotional energy on an object, person, idea, or goal. I sometimes meet people who are quite intense and some who are even manic. Many movies have plots that are developed around...

    The Great Commission ~ Breakdown

The apostles did well. The spread of Christianity after the ascension of Christ is a marvellous testimony to the effectual commitment of both the sender and the sent.

    reducing anti-psychotic medication

Are there any special words that you like? I collect words like this one, which has been a very helpful word for me at times: ca·thex·is (kə-thĕk′sĭs) n. pl. ca·thex·es (-thĕk′sēz) Concentration of emotional energy on an object or idea. [Greek kathexis, holding, retention, from katekhein, to...

    Another New Plan

You have read the OT, I take it. One verse in particular comes to mind . . . Jdg 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Is God the author of suffering?

I thought I had posted on this subject posited by the same user . . . and yes I had, in the debate forum. Basically, suffering is a consequence of the human will acting contrary to God's Will in the Garden of Eden. I don't blame God, saisigh, because He gave fair warning.

be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you

My answer to Theistic Evolutionists is that they can't call themselves Bible-believers, and to direct them to Romans 5 and 1Corinthians 15.

God is the cause of suffering.

Hi saisigh, You post a meaty question which has an equally meaty answer. If you are familiar with the parable of the sower you will recall that some of the seed fell on ground where it sprung up but was choked by weeds and thorns. These symbolised the cares and woes of the world that some...

    Have you read "Pagan Christianity"?

    Trust God or Satan?

I would ask them why they think they are a Christian. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Adam and Eve lost their access to the Tree of Life and the immortality that it provides all who partake of it when they disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, is in need of correction.

    Trust God or Satan?

There are ways and means of dealing with statements that are arbitrary and inflammatory. Those who present as "questioneers" sometimes employ a "bait and switch" technique to lure users into unreasonable arguments contrary to the wisdom from above: Jas 3:13-18 Who is wise and understanding...

    Trust God or Satan?

Now that the wrangling is on pause can I ask members of the Body of Christ to prefer edifying one another in love. Let's find things to build each other up about. Let's promote spiritual growth. :)

    Trust God or Satan?

I've been waiting for the famous Romans 5:12-21 passage to be raised, which testifies that had no-one sinned to date no-one would have died to date: Rom 5:12-21 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned...

    Trust God or Satan?

Hi Questioner, I trust God and His Word. Being refused access to the Tree of Life puts immortality on hold for everyone. Check out these cross-references. Gen 3:22-24 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and...

Am I understanding this right? Christians go to Heaven and then return to Earth...

Of course, God always knows everything knowable, and when specifically referencing a timeframe this is described as His Foreknowledge. In this verse and in the Psalms, we read of formation in the womb being foreknown, but not of that which is formed being pre-existent. Psa 139:13-16 For you...
