Why would I dread a Sunday Law? I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

@Pavel Mosko If you want to start a thread on a topic and focus on discussing it, I'm all in, but I'm not going to dance around amidst some rapid-fire, Mexican jumping bean dialogue. If you think what I've been doing is "rebuking" or "warning," you might want to grow some thicker skin or go...

    Seventh-day Adventist

Atheists hold up carefully selected portions of Scripture that are hard to be understood, then paint them in the worst possible light, and Christians stand around with their mouths gaping open because they have not taken the time to search the Bible and use their own logical, analytical thought...

How did you get to the point that you ascribe motive to people you don't even know? "You SDA...?" "You Adventist do not believe...?" "I'm sure you pay lip service...?" Can you give some unimpeachable testimony that Adventist's, on the whole (rather than just the Adventist you're blasting at...

    Seventh-day Adventist

When you get right down to it, the problem that many of us have in this regard is that we often are tempted to be offended by association. I'm a Seventh-day Adventist, but when someone lashes out at Adventism, it would be faulty thinking for me to assume that the lasher is attacking me...

What should we eat, mans original diet.

When the appetite is denied stimulating food for a short time, it ceases to be desirable and plain, wholesome food is eaten with much more relish than is possible with more popular articles of diet.

What should we eat, mans original diet.

Eat food; Mostly plants; Not too much —Something I heard once; probably in "Forks Over Knives" or one of those newer documentaries you see everywhere. The 'wellness' case for a plant-based diet has scarcely begun to be realized. The Bible is full of evidence for it but I can say, from an...

    What have you cooked lately?

Red Lentil Penne with my fluke-yummy pasta sauce freshened up with some tahini and lime juice! Tastes better than it looks.

I'm finding that I'm caring less and less about what I mind or don't mind. I don't have any personal skin in the game in that regard. I just want people to be able to see clearly the unutterably loving character of our great God. His glory as the only begotten of the Father. The One altogether...

    Seventh-day Adventist

This is one of the great burdens of my heart. If only people knew how often they cross the line into coercing the consciences of others by their, as you so aptly put it, adversarial tones. We should be encouraging one another to give as much attention to cultivation of Spiritual fruit, which...

Another thing that is rampant here (and sad, since it comes from secular society) is the genetic fallacy: "Oh, well, there you go; it comes from ________, so it must be awful." If something is in any way related to a stigmatized person or group, it is automatically assumed to be suspect.

Anti-denominationalism does seem to be all the rage these days—almost like a badge of honor. :)

    Soul Sleep yes or no?

May I offer a few suggestions for relief of your shoulder pain? A lot of folks don't like the idea of old-fashioned remedies, due to the advances in medicine that have us all so healthy and comfy here in the 21st century, but I reckon that God wouldn't have allowed His children to suffer...

    Seventh-day Adventist

I guess I'm a little foggy on what you mean by "antics" and "peripheral issues." Most of Christs teachings were about the way in which we are to keep God's law. The Jews had it, but they got way off track on how it was supposed to be applied from the heart. They never got Deuteronomy 5:29...
