Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Trevor, I was going to ask you what the bible states a Christian is. The whole point is that it has already been defined and the definition cannot change. We'd get into an endless debate about whether or not Jesus is God. The point is that this SHOULD NOT be debated between two "Christians"...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

You're an intelligent guy Trevor. Much more intelligent than I'll ever be. Please don't make the silly statement, as many do, that IT'S NOT IN THE BIBLE. As you surely know...history continued on after Revelation. Definitely after Acts. Those early Christians,,,the ones that were taught by...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

2 of 2 Are you speaking of the ECFs? I hope not. Augustine was one...although much too late for me. Well known? Wonder what I said. Do you know about Ignatius? He was taught by John and Peter. Do you know about Clement of Rome? He was mentioned in a leetter and was taught by Paul. No...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Goodness. Faith before belief. So where is the free will if God has to save us before we can be saved? Plenty of scripture Pinseeker - but not right now. Just Ephesians 2:8 is sufficient SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH Our FAITH saves us Don't know what Luke 18:27 has to do with this. (...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Yes sir. I sure do. My point is that THEY should not come into the conversation. If we ever discuss OSAS AGAIN... I'll point it out. Although I'm sure I have on occasion.

Don't really even know what you mean by Covenant theology. I'll tell you this: Reformed don't even call the Covenants by the same title. They call the New Covenant the Cov of Grace. NO OTHER denomination does this. So, I'll be usiing reformed/calvinist as the working title... which is what...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Sorry,,,was gone a few days. It's really difficult to discuss with someone who does not believe that Augustine taught the absense of free will. Why? Because now I'd have to stop and paste something that proves that Augustine taught that man has no free will. THIS IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE and should...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Trevor The FIRST JESUS IS GOD Is the number one tenet of the Christian RELIGION. You don't believe Jesus is God? You can't be called Christian. NO. It does NOT. You're talking about theology of the Christian RELIGION. I'm talking about what DEFINES the Christian RELIGION. A slight...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

I've always felt that you use this excuse to justify your belief system. You know...just state that the Christian in question to which the NT is referring is not a "true" believer, and it frees you of any further explanation. As if we now have to say TRUE believer because BELIEVER has lost all...

Even though I must disagree with reformed theology,,,, They do believe in the core doctrines of Christianity and thus can be defined as Christian. Yes. We can know who is of the Christian RELIGION.

You always say this. We usually are referring to Believers. Why discuss non-believers?? They're lost anyway.

Hi Stevesonthebay I couldn't agree with you more. What's funny is that you've received a like from a member that doesn't even believe that Jesus is God...the main doctrine/teaching of the Christian faith ! The church certainly does not look like the early church. What about its beliefs? Seems...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

NayborBear You've fought me tooth and nail throughout this thread. Did I mention something about prayer? The above post of yours is slightly contradictory, but I won't get into it. Do you believe Jesus is God? --- which requires belief in the Trinity, unless there are two Gods. Do you believe...

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

As you already know... I agree with the above 100% and that is what this thread is all about. :thumbsupx1

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Many believe as you do and it actually could be understood that way. This will not be an issue that should be debated too much.

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

I read somewhere that carpentry was not Joseph's occupation, but instead general construction. Never stopped to really find out about this and I'm not saying it's correct. Just to say that I agree with you. I do know about the politics.... Even some words are changed. This is also why I don't...

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Amigo.... Right. All good. But how about after we die? We will still have love. Will faith still be necessary? Will hope still be necessary? We will see God face to face, so why would we need faith or hope??

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Ronald, I'd like to hear @mailmandan 's reply first. And then I'll give you my thought on this. It'll have to do with what we mean by FAITH.

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Good response! :thumbsupx1 The 10 commandments are practiced, in one way or another, as a teaching of every religion. It is a teaching and not a tenet of the Christian religion. I sure do wish more persons would understand what defines a Christian.

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

You could believe that Jesus is not God. Just don't call yourself a CHRSITIAN. A CHRISTIAN MUST believe that Jesus is God. This is the NUMBER ONE TENET of the Christian religion.
