At what age are we to condemn people of other religions to hell?

This is the best answer I've yet seen. :)

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

Yeah, I understand the carbon cycle and the "He knoweth our frame, that we are but dust" imagery, but dirt and breath have nothing to do with when life begins in procreation. And since you want to accuse (Who said anything about hating God?) and insult (I've never read the Bible?), per your...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

There's plenty of other Scripture evidence to support the blood-life connection.

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

If the origin of life is restricted to the manner in which God gave it to Adam, then shouldn't we be seeing a lot of dirt turning into babies? Adam never had any form of being before the dirt and the breath. We do. So, by your logic, I have to suppose that you're from the school of thought...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

I have to say that, while I do not agree with Jim B on much of anything, I'm straining to understand how the OP expects the "right to adopt to intervene abortion" to be codified in a legislative form. It's fair enough to say unequivocally that babies should be adopted rather than killed, but...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

Speaking of communism, a film was produced in 1934 called "Our Daily Bread." I saw it on PBS late at night about 45 years ago. It seemed to be a mixed message to me. The benefits of pooling resources and skills during the Great Depression cannot be overstated. But there will always eventually...

I think I often misunderstand you. It is one of my most regrettable faults.

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

It's a strange amalgamation of faux-anticapitalism and socialism, so it looks like communism (especially to those of us who grew up amidst the Red Scare) but it doesn't quite qualify. Not that anything ever did, really, since "communism" is always a cover for and somewhat effective management...

I'm not much for politics but, you know, what's weird is that Mr. Biden's sociological views were completely different 30 years ago.

. Exactly when does a fetus become a baby, Stan? When the head is sticking out, but the torso and limbs are still in the birth canal, is the thing part-baby and part-parasite? (It seems that this is just one more thing upon which reproductive-healthcare-rights folks can't quite reach a...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

What I find very interesting is that there are no statistics to be found on the rate of occurence for medical emergency abortions. Look high and low... You won't find it. And it just seems to me that those who use the possibility of such occurrences as justification for the vast availability...

How would you propose we go about verifying that "considering adoption first" has been properly done. You just don't seem to be offering a practical policy/solution so much as a mere suggestion. I really don't get it. But what do I know?

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

Fortunately for us, it's not a contest. All God's children are erring. Nobody wins. Unless we are all okay with losing. We're all broken. The unfortunate result of social media is countless millions of people who are not bound together in community, but merely comparing ourselves one to...

Because we often know not what we do? Like when we portray Him as One who cares not about the suffering of the disobedient.

How to respond to 13-year-old daughter who declares being gay

(Un)fortunately, depending on your perspective, I have first-hand experience with this issue, albeit my son was in his late 20s when he came to us with the news. He had been testing the waters for several months with us, so I knew something was up, but he's very clever and was well able to...

    The Matzah -- Unleavened Bread

Always good to see you, Dev! Yeah, my time is not so valuable that I can't spare a few minutes to read the words of lovely, sincere folk!

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

I know I'm wrong about some of it. Couldn't I possibly be right about some of it, too? How much does a person have to know about a belief system for it to be intellectually viable? For that matter, is the only supreme being that would be worthy of devotion also only the one that is completely...
