What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

@Peterlag I've come late to the party! I really don't know what has been said so far, so I'll just tell you what I've come to believe. Growing up I didn't believe that Jesus was STILL God, but that He once was. That is what I was taught in the SDA denomination 60 years ago. I left it in 1970. I...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

You second question is silly and you don't know what that verse even meant in Galatians. It had to do with keeping the rites of circumcision and the Old ceremonial laws of the Old Covenant in order to be a saved Christian as the Christian Jews were trying to convince the Galatians in keeping...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

That is rude. Do as you wish then and act two years old, and we'll just guess. But when you DO use the correct avenue to respond, we get an alert that someone has responded.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Paul and John do to as far as what Jesus accomplishes in us. Jesus did not fail. You fail in your lack of acknowledgement! Paul: "We are dead to sin." John: "we cannot sin." But it is possible if we choose to sin even after the desire to sin that Jesus took away is gone. How dumb. That is why...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Then how does a "faith alone" Christian act after salvation? Do they continue to sin or has Jesus taken away their sin and they are free as Paul and John claims. You don't seem to agree with the doctrine of Paul and John that I claim.

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Does that give us a clue that you are Messianic or SDA and keep the 4th Commandment according to the letter? Also, may I ask that you use the reply button or quote so we know who you are addressing.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Yes, you do. Revelation 22:11 That sounds like a pew warmer to me, and are not saved. I agree we cannot change ourselves and do good before coming to Christ, but rather come to Him because goodness is required to enter heaven, and we KNOW there is no way we qualify on our own without Christ...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Well said. I agree. Notice also the word "says" in 1 John 2 about what a person says is not always the truth. Then the word "say" in 1 John 1:6, 8, 10 becomes abundantly clear that this is a sinner talking the talk, but not walking the walk as in verse 7.

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Deal with Paul saying He is FREE. Romans 8:2. He is not in the bondage of Romans 7:14-23. Have you never learned that we are not under the law, but under grace? Grace is not a license to sin as you believe. It is the gospel of grace and the power of God to recreate your nature to make it divine...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Enoch, Hi! Nice to see you finally civil. Ephesians 2:8-10 is exactly what I said. It is talking about a miraculously born again Christian that has been given the gift of His divine nature, recreated to do good works. The faith alone doctrine usually means someone has faith that Jesus will...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

I agreed until this part: Behold, I brought this last part of your post and made it bold to ask you something. These people that you were describing at the beginning (which I now have at the end), the lukewarm Christian, do you believe they are saved? That is what the bolded part seems to say...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Nothing except repentance to receive the Holy Spirit. But after that...2 Peter 1:5-9. 5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness...

"And I Will Profess Unto Them, I Never Knew...Who, Exactly?"

Don't forget your reference for my sake. I use 1 John 3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Correct. It is God that gives the increase. 1 Cor. 3:6. He finishes what He started. But to never change from the beginning of your walk is written by Peter 2 Peter 1:9 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Faith and obedience go hand in hand. That is what those with the Faith Alone doctrine don't understand and have in fact misinterpreted what faith actually is.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

Our sin nature is taken care of at that moment, but what is it that Jesus commanded? Perfection! Holiness! That is beyond sinlessness. That is like God.

"And I Will Profess Unto Them, I Never Knew...Who, Exactly?"

That would mean that no one believing in OSAS has any assurance they are known by Jesus and are one of the chosen.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Just as we who are born again and filled with His Spirit have the mind of Christ and abide in Him and He in us, 1 Corinthians 2:16, 1 John 3:24, Jesus had the mind of the Father - they are inseparable; they are one. John 17

"And I Will Profess Unto Them, I Never Knew...Who, Exactly?"

I cannot see how Matthew 7:22 in context (21-23) can possibly be used to justify OSAS. It proves the opposite.
