    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

The right interpretation of that verse in 1 Cor. 3:11-15 is someone's false doctrines they themselves create (eisegesis) to be followed (a church father) that will be burnt, not righteous works. It means there are some doctrines that attract sinners with itching ears to believe they are saved...

    Difference between Catholic and Protestant.

You're right. God doesn't. But naming a demon, Mary is disrespectful to the mother of Jesus who is not a demon. Did this fact really pass right over your head?

    Exegesis or Eisegesis

Folks, This is what happens when eisegesis runs rampant. Romans 6 already points out that we are dead to sin. Romans 7:5 (if he had read the CONTEXT!) says a Christian is not in the flesh, because the flesh is past tense ("WHEN we were in the flesh") and Romans 8:9 agrees that "but a Christian...

    Difference between Catholic and Protestant.

Read the letters Jesus wrote to the Catholic/Orthodox church age - Thyatira at the end of Revelation 2 (Jezebel is the old name representing the pagan religion of the goddess and child that the original Jezebel was a high priestess in) This is why you can't find any references of the assumption...

    Exegesis or Eisegesis

What is the difference of exegesis and eisegesis? Exegesis is legitimate interpretation which "reads out of' the text what the original author or authors meant to convey. Eisegesis, on the other hand, reads into the text what the interpreter wishes to find or thinks he finds there. It...

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

So your answer to the title is yes. I'll see if I can add a poll. Look for it. Edit: I can't add a poll.

Sinning with purpose is sinning with pleasure

That's just it. I thought I did. Maybe it is my advanced age, but I'm going to limit myself to only two glasses in a whole evening.

    Is FAITH ALONE Enough?

One problem in many theologies is believing faith alone is enough for GOD. Peter criticized them for not growing further in the knowledge of Jesus and Christian living. Read 2 Peter 1:5-11. How many people have heard a sermon on this passage. It should be brought from the platform every week...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

I know and agree. Don't know what would make your eyes roll. LOL Unless you don't understand how the letter kills. Those same laws written on our heart changes our very nature. It isn't imputed righteousness, it IS righteousness. Take for instance the Sabbath commandment. There is no way to...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Of course it does. You just said it. "while trying to keep the Old Law." Where is that Law? In his MIND. It is NOT in his HEART. That is the difference between keeping the letter of the law that you know in your mind, and the Spirit of the law in your heart/conscience/nature. What is giving...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

It makes the chapter cohesive. First you have Romans 7:5-6 which is New Covenant, and NOT a slave to sin, so verse 24 is not out of place in this chapter, and the 25th verse is the conclusion of 14-23, 25, with a new start in Roman 8:1, or could continue right after verse 6. The "Therefore" of...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

The first half of 25 is still the mind which is in both covenants. But in the old it was memorized commandments that were engraved on stone. So it belongs in 25 in the whole of it.

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

I used to think 25 was separate from 14-23, but it is not. It is still talking about being in the flesh and not in the Spirit. Go back to Romans 7:5-6 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now...

Sinning with purpose is sinning with pleasure

I'm not saying it is okay to get drunk, but it is only from experience that you know how much you can hold and not feel it. Its been a long time ago that I had been drunk - decades. This last birthday, my next door neighbor asked me to come over that night and share a bottle of red wine in the...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

No, it is the concluding verse of 14-25 about sin in our flesh that Jesus FREES US FROM. Our "human nature" is what is born again - our spirit and soul. "25 So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin." THAT is NOT a Christian. This is the major...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

The tense doesn't matter to someone with an Eastern mindset. (Hebrew) But it is one reason westerners get hung up. This is why context matters, and what the rest of the Bible says. Please answer more meaningful posts, not one about tense. After all Romans 8:2 is present tense freeing us from...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Sinning with purpose is sinning with pleasure

I think it would matter if it hurts someone else, or just yourself. Personally I don't have it in me to willfully hurt someone else, but I may drink one too many glasses of wine, but not out in public. And then wait about a year for another glass. LOL Thank goodness birthday's come only once a year.
