    "I feel ugly"

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. The world teaches young women to seek the perfect body, flaunt what you have, and fight for a youthful look. When I was motivated to change my appearance to look good in the eyes of the world, I...

    Perfection is not the enemy

I have been lied to about many biblical principles over the years. To this day, my husband and I are still unraveling things that we were taught versus what is actually in the Bible. Im afraid money drives a lot of messages because if we read our Bibles ourselves, we would reject people trying...

Is intimacy important in a Christian marriage?

Ecclesiastes says there is a time for everything. While physical intimacy is very important and a huge blessing in marriage, it by itself cannot sustain a marriage. Im thinking of couples who for whatever reason are unable to have sex. If this is the case, the commitment and marriage vows...

I've seen people who are off in their doctrine, but its rare that I find actual "children of the devil". The Pharisees were the enemies of Jesus and opposed him because they were threatened by him. I hesitate to put people with bad doctrine in this category. My doctrine was pretty bad too. I...

Having your identity rooted in Christ---what does that mean for you?

For me, it looks like trading my apppearance-conscious self awareness for God awareness. Knowing He is first and in the background, but I reflect Him and am made in His image. I can stand tall and hold my head up high because God put so much in me and I can be confident in that.

When I read Scriptures about how we should be honoring and preferring one another, I think, wow! We should be tripping over ourselves to speak kindly and show love to one another! It should be as if Jesus was standing right there reading our posts as we write them. After all, the Holy Spirit...

    Perfection is not the enemy

Thank you so much! Let God who gives us the spirit of love and truth be praised! You are emcouraging and I know others see that too.

    Perfection is not the enemy

Jesus does remind me that I am justified because I have struggled to forgive myself in the past. I think we can focus on two sides of the same coin. Both abiding in Jesus to produce fruit and obeying Him willfully are commanded in the Scriptures. If you say that focusing on Jesus produces...

    Perfection is not the enemy

You've got something there. I think the Bible speaks of both but it sometimes serves us better to not focus on all the things we shouldn't do but what we should be doing.

    Perfection is not the enemy

I never saw the fruit of the Spirit in my life really manifest until I got it into my mind, "Every sin must go." I know that's not the popular teaching today. But it produced in me a life of wholeness and no longer feeling a need to hide from God. I didn't get this idea from anyone. I got...

    Perfection is not the enemy

Let's look at falling from grace closely. Galatians 5:4 King James Version 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Paul was speaking of people trying to follow the law of Moses with circumcision. But are all good works...

    Perfection is not the enemy

I certainly haven't always had a perfect heart towards the Lord. Last night, I had to be corrected on some things. But today, I'm seeking, asking, knocking on God's door to get that perfect heart.

    Perfection is not the enemy

God promised to give us a new heart. Ezekiel 36:26 King James Version 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Plus, I was thinking about what you posted...

    Perfection is not the enemy

Lambano, I think perfection starts from the heart and flows outward. David had a heart for God. Not a perfect track record. In Genesis 6:9 I believe it is said of Noah that he was perfect in his generation and that he walked with God. Yet he got drunk off his own wine and his son had to come...
