How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I set the tone in the OP. The tone then shifted towards the superficial and virtue-signalling of the flesh in a selfish panic..in a carnally religious fear. At that point the outer man looks for support...forming a kind of "sanhedrin" against anything and anyone that threatens their false...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

You are doing the backward thing as usual. You are trying to save yourself by your beliefs. You actually believe that your religious opinions save you. That's amazingly deluded. God doesn't need your beliefs...or your claims. They are as futile as the demons believing. The cross rejection comes...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

A shallow understanding will see the word "believe not" to mean not accepting a religious belief that a person thinks will save them. but that is only a carnal religious understanding. What the verse is saying is that we come into the life and light of God by faith. By faith we enter into His...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Always the outer man wants the last word. Drown out the truth with ranting all you want. Speak lies to cover the truth. You point to Jesus the same way that the Pharisees pointed to Moses. All for self-justification. What did Jesus say....that Moses would condemn those who pointed to him, who...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Many here have learned to have theoretical beliefs. They have been taught...indoctrinated, into believing certain things..and what made that attractive to them was the perceived benefit to themselves...a selfish motivation. These will deny this...to their own detriment. But ALL selfish...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Your superficial religious understanding aside...you need to stop pointing fingers...stop accusing... ...stop posturing...stop grandstanding...and go be WITH Christ. You may like to have a"marveloustime" while you are in the flesh....but judgment is coming. Repent, stop pontificating and go to...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

You are way off. God didn't invent a salvation scheme that you just have to give assent to. Luther did that. He invented the scheme ...and the flesh LOVES it. And.... it is totally false. You have been deceived by the doctrines of men. I think the modern Protestant churches are full of this...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

People LOVE false prophecy and puffing up of the religious outer man. The hypocrisy is so thick you can cut it with a knife here...and the word of God does that very well. It's funny how all the cessationists call all true prophecy false and anything that puffs up the flesh...they see as...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

But to do that you need actual spiritual gifts. A false encouragement can only puff up the flesh. A dime a dozen...next.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

See, a false prophet comes to edify the flesh...and all the unbelief in prophecy goes out the window. How typical of the carnal mind.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

We are not justified based on the death of Jesus..but on his resurrection...as we are raised into the justification of an eternal kind of life.. No Adamic flesh can be justified. No one under the law can be justified in His sight. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

This might be too subtle for many here. Agreed with the difference between being "under the law"... and being "of the law". Being under the law is a spiritual condition of limitation to a walk in human strength...IOW..being in the flesh...walking according to the flesh. The irony is that so...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The Jewish God is not YOUR God perhaps. But just remember Luther didn't create the heavens and the earth. What you are espousing sounds like the gnostic idea of the God of the OT being a "demiurge" ...or worse... I knew you guys were way off here...but whoa nelly...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

There are 3 possible stances for "believers" to take in regard to the death and resurrection of Jesus. The first: That Jesus atoned for the sins of all those who believe in Him...so that only those who believe in Him are forgiven...the penalty of their sins being PAID FOR in full by Jesus...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The scheme made up by Luther indeed makes sense to the carnal mind. God has allowed for this alternate logic (the Great delusion) to exist to expose those who hate the truth. Congrats on that.

More covering up your insufficient and pagan-like understanding of spiritual things.
  17. Episkopos

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

And yet that's exactly what you are trying to do by claiming that Jesus covers your sins...and then justifying yourself for your beliefs. Your position is self-defeating and a bad reading of the biblical narrative.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Notice that it doesn't say "he has forgiven forever"...as you are trying to understand the purpose of Jesus' sacrifice. Jesus made a way for people to DIE in the outer man of the flesh in order to be raised up in the inner man into HIS resurrection life. He went first to create the process.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Animal sacrifices do not "pay" for sins. Sins bring death, and the animal sacrifice is meant to represent the cost ...OUR cost...in sacrificing the animal part of ourselves ...the outer man...to die in order to have an intimate walk with God in Christ. So you have things exactly backwards. God...
