It isn't easy, but denying the flesh makes the spiritual clearer. I don't know much about hearing voices, I never hear them in my head, only myself. To listen to God outside the standard package of scripture I depend on more subtle means of listening. I also don't think it unreasonable to ask...

It isn't useless, but morality is not the end goal. Outwards appearances are a side effect of spiritual growth. As the christian grows they should appear more moral. By moral I mean more moral by God's standards because there are different standards based on culture. Also we have many...

You know what is amazing? A religion survives that doesn't depend on self righteous works based doctrines and coercion to keep their numbers. Free range christians, we get into bigger messes because we aren't confined to the barnyard.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with the written word but with how people read and understand it. Everyone who reads a passage has their own interpretation. It is only by the teaching of the Spirit that we can understand properly. Human teachers are insufficient, if that is all someone has...

Cool, I mean hot. An afterlife is a common thing in human culture. Seems like God really did put eternity in the heart of men. So the ancient greek word for hell ended up in the new testament which is written in ancient greek. Its not surprising.

Or it would prove hell predates judaism, which would only be as expected. I wouldn't assume all these ancient cultures got everything wrong. They also had prophets of a sort, though the source of their revelations and how they were preserved would be questionable. God entrusted his words to...

    The Mind

You do have a point about the mind needing to be more than the grey matter between our ears. If that were all there is to it then it would be meaningless to repent or even to renew our mind now, when that returns to the dust. But the scripture says be transformed by the renewing of the mind...

    'Blood of Jesus'

Indeed he is come in the flesh, but not only flesh. When Jesus refered to his body speaking to thomas he called it flesh and bone. Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:39 KJV His blood was...

“ASK WHAT SHALL I GIVE THEE ?”

Wisdom isn't enough to stop us from sinning, but why should we fear punishment with perfect love. Love's importance can not be expressed enough. If we love God we will love others in accordance with his will and commandment. Love is the means to obey the spirit of the Law. And our desire is...

According to you is Jesus' resurrected body still flesh and blood?

“ASK WHAT SHALL I GIVE THEE ?”

I've heard somewhere that in hebrew culture the biggest fool is someone that knows something is wrong and does it anyways. So I think the lesson here is the wisest man in the world was still foolish.

I think you still love the truth, and are looking for some lie or contradiction to expose. This is good. It is what I see that gives me hope that you will come back to Jesus. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.John 14:6

“ASK WHAT SHALL I GIVE THEE ?”

Asking God for something is sowing? Is this what you mean? For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. Ecclesiastes 1:18 KJV Ecclesiastes 1:18 KJV; For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

“ASK WHAT SHALL I GIVE THEE ?”

Insight would be a good gift to receive from God. An insightful person would find it easy to understand, even without vast knowledge. Discernment should come easy to them, with minimal information. Since knowledge is the requisite for everything, its better to be able to do more with less...

    'Blood of Jesus'

Yes, the Jews wanted Jesus dead but Pilate feared the dream from his wife. In the end he caved and handed Jesus over to be crucified. The roman solders mocked Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews when they placed the crown of thorns on his head. But Pilate also mocked the Jews, by acknowledging...

    what makes a prophet?

It is you who are wrong, because a prophecy from a lying spirit is not a prophecy from God. God does not tempt. Remember: "Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?" Even though the prophet lied at first, he was revealed the truth. Nether am I proven false by my...

    what makes a prophet?

This only works for the devil to get someone to accept false prophecies. He does tempt people in this way. The devil doesn't get to decide what prophecies God will give. Therefore the devil can't tempt us with them. Nether does God tempt according to scripture.
