    Paranoid Christianity

I can understand where they come from, those with a works requirement of the gospel. The scriptures place value on works, so they take it from there. There is also the simple truth that God hates evil, so he wouldn't want those who practice it around him. How I reconsile this is God doesn't...

    Paranoid Christianity

I guess that would make it convenient to dismiss what people write, if you can label someone as having a mental disorder. Its another step to surrounding yourself with teachers that will scratch them itchy ears. Granted I do not even look for signs of a mental disorder before I question what...

How is it that the Spirit of truth "will not speak on His own authority?"

I agree, and this arrangement would seem to indicate the authority given the Holy Spirit is below that of the Son.

How is it that the Spirit of truth "will not speak on His own authority?"

I figured it was to redirect the glory to the Son. As otherwise if he speaks of his own accord the resulting praise would belong to him, and that is not what he desires.

    The rebellion of Lucifer?

Free will is not an evil thing. The sparrow does what it wants and is not evil for it. That is because it does what it was created to do. It doesn't desire anything else.

    Lucifer

I doubt it, there were angels that had children but they were confined to hell for their actions. Lucifer is not under the same punishment, so I doubt his crime was the same.

    Feeling Sorry For God

I have on occasion commiserated with God over the lost. But those moments were short, even as their lives are short. They are to be forgotten.

OUTSIDE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THERE IS NO SALVATION

Didn't he think theirs is the only true church and exclude the RCC along with all the others?

Tell me what is loveable about such a God

2 Kings 3:11 It is interesting back in the day when kings would surround themselves with prophets and wise men, how did they know a Prophet was of the Lord or not? The test of the prophet is what they say comes true. But what value would a proven false prophet be to a King? Why even keep...

Honoring your father and mother no matter what is dumb

Welcome to the site! What exactly does it mean to honor them? Do we have the same understanding as the hebrews did?

Chaos Theory What Makes an Accident?

What you say about heaven makes sense. The Kingdom of Heaven is within. It is also understood from John 5:24 that when someone is saved they step from death into life. Further Jesus promised in John 11:26 that whoever lives by believing in him will never die. He told the thief on the cross...

How would you evangelize a non believer?

I agree this seems to be the best approach. They want to know who God is from a Christian perspective, but also how he relates with us. That is answered by the gospel.

Chaos Theory What Makes an Accident?

Perhaps deja vu is from dreams we can't remember, I was speaking of dreams I could remember. Concerning deja vu a secular theory is that it is some sort of a feedback loop in our memory. We recall a memory and record it at the same time, leading us to think it already happened.

Chaos Theory What Makes an Accident?

You never had dreams that even vaguely show the future? I've had them, once I drempt of an ape with its flesh falling off. The next day I saw a documentary that by chance depicted apes turning on one of their own and tearing it apart.

Is it scriptural to instruct angels?

It is unwise to consider anything about things we don't know or understand.
