@covenantee @WPM Now there is something called the living Bible. It is kind of like when you go to church and you feel the sermon was tailormade for what you are doing or what is going on with you. (Not that you guys go to church.) There are those that believe that a verse may be an epiphany...

@covenantee @WPA From a different source Why Prophecies Are Often “Cherry-Picked” from Scripture Prophecies are sometimes “cherry-picked” — taken out of context or selectively quoted — because of human tendencies, theological disputes, and the complexity of biblical interpretation. 1...

LOL I do not think you guys believe the Bible is made up. You just do not pay attention. Not provide scripture.....I am trying to get you to read scripture instead of cherry picking, read the whole story. And I do not have a doctrine. That is the difference between me and you guys.....I do not...

so it is written, that the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and that repentance [necessary] for forgiveness of sins would be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem... Where was this written? There has to be...

I know you can read, so read. Yes, testing the faith of a king. Read the chapters! And the Lord said to me, “Name him Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. 4 For before the boy knows how to say ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off by the king of...

Do I have college books? Sure. Here is the deal, when people take a scripture out of context, that is called cherry picking. People do it a lot in the New Testament when they have a belief that is really not in the scriptures. Instead of learning from the Bible they try to impose their beliefs...

On prophecies? Ya. Like I said, it is pretty simple, all you have to do is look at the scriptures around them and understand the story line. Sometimes you have to put your thinking cap on. The scripture told them that Elijah would arrive and announce the Messiah. That why is people were asking...

Link to my teachers? Professors Aah. Ya that won't be happening. No reason to believe me, read the chapters around where these one liners are at. On the other hand, no harm no foul if you do not believe me. Bible study requires an in depth knowledge of the scriptures, the spirit of the...

LOL I would return the insult, but it is not worth it.

A warm welcome for the gale from India! HUGS! Can't comment on the Job thing, cause I do not know the job market in India. This is a good site....conversations in general and religious discussion. I do recommend going to church and getting involved in church activities and community. Good way to...

Five countries, eight colleges, some were courses and or seminars. That is a long story.....And it will sound like bragging..... Chistian Brothers preparatory college, Canyon University, American University, courses at Hebrew University, Oxford and Cambridge, University of Edinburgh, University...

For many, prophecies of the Messiah are important. So over the centuries Christians have combed through the Old Testament scriptures for prophecies of the Messiah. Most of the time all they were going to find were one liners that were imbedded in stories. So they took one liners and used them...

The Gospels tell the story of the God Messiah......written several years after the fact. Yeap they knew He was God. The storyline is still the storyline in Isaiah as it is written, John picked this out of the middle of the story. Why? They were Jewish-Christians and they were desperate to find...

Good job! Isaiah 9:6 says Almighty God, but it also says everlasting father. Which would be a little confusing to them. But at least they had a hint. And the government will be on his shoulders.....They were looking for the Messiah to establish a kingdom that would rule......not die. Isiaih 7...

LOL

@covenantee @WPM I have given you guys plenty of time to state your case and you cannot. I went back and forth over these prophecies in college. At best the prophets knew some sort of Savior was coming, but no real specifics. It would have taken a lot for them to believe that the Messiah was...

When you find a scripture that plainly says what you believe, I will believe it.

I just point out that what you are saying the scripture says, does not say that. Somebody has to keep you honest.

Ya you need to find Old Testament scriptures that say the Old Testament prophets knew the Messiah would be a God.

I agree this scripture speaks of champions of faith.
