Oh yea, sorry about that. I got pulled away and forgot to answer you. I'm hoping the forum move to XenForo will fix all these problems. That is under the purview of the Admin, Brent.

Too long, didn't read the whole thing. I do agree with you in principle, and am against all compulsory giving.

The works Jesus said he judges I believe to be the same thing as the fruits from the good tree bad tree in Matthew 7:16-17. Rather someone calls themselves a Christian or not is superficial. It is a title, what's important is that they believe.

When Jesus said he came to bring a sword, I think of the division Jesus brings. He is the light of the world, and the light has no fellowship with darkness. The Word carves from the world an inheritance for himself. Then the world becomes hostile to us as we are joined with Jesus. The world...

Did I speak on this? Can't recall saying so. I believe it is possible for all to receive the gifts only because I have experienced a taste of most of them. It seems they only show up when I need them.

I consider it the responsibility of the hearer to judge the merit of a challenge to their beliefs. By not being serious with the presentation it eliminates any appeal to authority. If someone here were actually to change their beliefs it would only be the result of a God driven process, not...

What is the purpose of this topic except for prodestants to oppose the Catholic church? This forum has enough of that already.

If it weren't for the apostles who were there we wouldn't know about Jesus. But good news for us, God deemed the subject important enough to give us many details. When it comes to doctrine we should have a humble attitude, or as you call it defeatist, so we don't go off on a tangent from the...

All these creation theories rest upon a few verses. Jesus' existence is shown clearly in half the bible and prophesied in the other half. The absurdity of comparing the two in Post #19 is a giant straw man.

If this conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus weren't important to someone else, John wouldn't have been directed by the Holy Spirit to write it in his Gospel. How many late night conversations do you think Jesus had that weren't recorded? Must have been quite a few over his 3 year ministry.

I disagree. if he said he had a bush on his yard that burned without being consumed I would call that suspect, even though it is supported by the Bible.

Heb_12:7 has a purpose that is revealed in the context, “do not lose heart when he rebukes you." It is so you don't doubt God in the hardships he puts you through. What are the hardships a church can cause compared to God? A bruised ego, emotional distress, or worst they may not want to...

The church has authority over their members. If you can't tolerate being subject to discipline you can go it alone. This way no one can damage your pride, and the only false teacher you can hear is yourself.

You can buy fermented foods in health food stores, they will always be in the refrigerated section because they are perishable. I bought some old fashioned fermented dill pickles today, which you will not find in most grocery stores. The big brand named pickles contain vinegar to give them...

I wonder if ancient prophets were given insights into some of the realities that were more plainly stated to the Jews and preserved in the scriptures. These myths popped up based on a few insights from these prophets because they didn't have the same reverence for God.

As expected nothing edifying is coming from this ecumenical discussion. Just mutual condemnation of the opposing view. This topic is being closed.

Please expound upon the claims you have made. You have already posted about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, but these need clarification. Who exactly is claiming inspiration by the Holy Spirit? How are people claiming to be guided by the Holy Spirit that you find disagreeable? What do you...

Ego has nothing to do with it, this is what the word of God says: Genesis 1:27 "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." So what if man sinned after his creation? It doesn't change that man was created in God's image.
