    CHANGING Times

It's also true, in a biblical way, that "the more things change, the more they stay the same." (Ecclesiastes 1:9) Sorry, don't mean to hog/flood your thread. :)

    CHANGING Times

I feel kind of the same way except I don't feel qualified to show anyone where they err from any verse in the Bible. "It would be too much to list them all" sounds like you might have access to the master list. Do you mean that you don't know them all or that to list them all would take up too...

    CHANGING Times

And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. (1 Corinthians 8:2)

    Y'all, I am going

I was PMing Backlit and I thought of FYD. I miss her very much. Did you know she had begun to keep the Sabbath before she left? She was an inspiration to very many of us, I think. She definitely wasn't afraid to appear vulnerable. I must remember to pop over to that Baptist forum and say hi...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I'm sorry for being honest about my mistake.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I'm ashamed to say that I forced myself to sit through Mel Gibson's gorefest about the crucifixion and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Everywhere I went the year it was released Christians were raving about how beautiful it was. The very idea that physical abuse is what caused...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Hi Mary, Glad you liked it. But I think you might be taking it a little too personally. You've still got me wrong on my approach to Scripture and orthodoxy. But it seems like every time I try to explain my process, you interpret it into something I had no intention of portraying. Oh, well...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Why not just read the "men" themselves, rather than the "successors to" and the "pupils of?" Wouldn't they have been the closest to the "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus?" Wouldn't that truly be starting from scratch? :)

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Well, it looks like a trap to me, but I'll say 'neither.'

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

You are wrong. Ha, ha, ha, ha! See, that's okay because you didn't tell me this is the Truth--you told it to G2R. :D:p

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Thanks for your strange reply. I'm afraid I failed to give you a correct impression of where I am coming from. No worries. :)

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

HI, MARY!!! :):):) I'd like to think there's something to be said for simply being able to choose to worship God according to the dictates of my own conscience, which I've decided is what I perceive the Bible to say. I won't stand for some ecclesiastical bureaucrat telling me how I must relate...

Work. Just like M-F. Or whatever you want. The Sabbath is more than a day of rest from work: Rest in God - Keeping the Sabbath Holy | Sabbath Truth Is it necessary to go to church on the Sabbath? | Sabbath Truth What About the Lord's Day? | Sabbath Truth

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

You got my vote but, fact is, the term "Lord's day," verbatim is mentioned once in Scripture. Maybe the Septuagint has something similar, but there you could run into Parousia/"the day of the Lord." I don't know.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Doing what? Sunday is not the "Lord's Day." There is only one verse in the Bible that uses this term and it makes no mention of which day of the week it is. There is only one day of the week that is made holy by the LORD and it is the SEVENTH day of the week, which is called "Saturday."
