The School of the prophets: God's rules

I agree that prayers do have an effect on the future. Its like the future is laid out as a road and God can change its course at will, such as when he answers a prayer or judges or forgives a nation. I say this because the future threat in a dream, vision, or word of knowledge can seem very...

The School of the prophets: God's rules

I only respond if I deem it constructive to do so, and also avoid making hasty replies. When I think a terse response will work I use it. I should also remind you that moderator actions should not be discussed. Rules

The School of the prophets: God's rules

God can be moved but he also knows that he will be moved by his foreknowledge. But when we pray we have no knowledge of God's plans except a general idea from his word. If we didn't pray God would know that in advance as well. Whenever God relents, he has known he would do so beforehand. So...

    The Fruit of Gods Spirit.

God's patience is likely why it is taking thousands of years for that day to come. But his anger is still building, and one day his wrath he will be unwilling to refrain.

The School of the prophets: God's rules

If God does whatever he wants why did Jesus have to suffer and die on a cross? He could have said to the devil, get out, and saved everyone without Jesus needing to die. But God said,"without blood there is no remission of sins."

The School of the prophets: God's rules

It is interesting that God's character means he never lies. Anything he says will surely come to pass. I makes it difficult to explain these examples of his manipulation. It must be manipulation because it is also written that God doesn't change his mind. If he said Nineveh is going to be...

Not Repenting After Corrections From Spiritual Leaders

The intent of Godly discipline is always to save souls. Be it for the one being disciplined or those they influence. If repentance comes at the expense of our suffering do you think that would stop God? Who would you rather be disciplined by, God or man?

The School of the prophets: God's rules

It seems more likely that the older prophet lied of his own volition. James 1:13

The School of the prophets: God's rules

The way I understand it the lying spirit didn't take human form. He spoke in the minds of the false prophets, whom parroted the message as though it came from God himself. The false prophets likely listened to many spirits, and I doubt God would speak through them himself if they are so tainted.

The School of the prophets: God's rules

Maybe only humans can be prophets. Also, the lying spirit came up with the idea and what to say, God approved the plan.

The School of the prophets: God's rules

Micaiah was the prophet of God. He didn't speak as directed by the lying spirit. When he did repeat their lie It was because he was told to by the messenger and feared the king. But he did tell the truth once pressured to do so. The other prophets were only there to tell Ahab what he wanted...

The School of the prophets: God's rules

Remember the false prophets that were used to lure Ahab to his death. They heard from a lying spirit sent by God. But Micaiah, who was known as a Prophet of the Lord, spoke directly from the Lord revealing the plan. Jonah knew from day one that God was threatening Nineveh so they would...

Does God approve of using financing in Africa?

Has any problem ever been solved by throwing money at it? If this is on your heart to do then you need to ensure it is properly done and accounted for. A corrupt government may decide your finances would benefit them more. Same goes for individuals you would entrust, they will embezzle it...

What do you believe; calculations or your lying eyes?

If you want to make observations do it right instead of using anecdotal evidence. Shine a perfectly level laser over a salt flat and take measurements at different distances.

What do you believe; calculations or your lying eyes?

The reason you see the horizon a few miles away is because your eyes are a little higher than the surface of the earth. If you were to go atop a high mountain the horizon would be much farther away.

What do you believe; calculations or your lying eyes?

D=-63360*(sqrt(R^2-L^2)-R) 63360 is to convert miles to inches R is the radius of the earth in miles (3959 miles) L is the length of the tangent line straight out from you in miles. (1 mile) D is the distance from the end of the tangent line to the earth's surface in inches. (calculates to 8in...
