No, nothing alike. A muffin here is like a small cake, a scone there is more like raised thick pastry.

We were lazy, we just fried ours , fired bacon and fired eggs on a Sunday morning...and always look at someone else's plate to make sure they didn't have even half a rasher of bacon more than us!! :D

    Defending Homosexuality

Agree.. There are not big sins and little sin... James says - if we live by the law we must keep it ALL. 10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. " Yet we seem to want it both ways! ie:- Such as, "His sins are much worse than my small sin"

Calling on the name of Lord

Funny, I never heard it until I moved here. Was it about in the 70’s , when I left there? You would have been quite young back then. Right?

    Defending Homosexuality

Hey Reggie, You sure have a way with words :D Very colourful. I don’t think we can lump them all together like that. You are describing the drags of society ...perverts, but we have them in every level and walk of life. I mean , I had one uncle who “tried it on “ with my two brothers...

Well, when you say it like that...agree , it sounds good. My cheap old Texan friends must have just used water...they were lumpy and very boring. I tried them twice...then gave them as pass ....and that was back in the 70’s ha! I must take another run at them. Though I don’t like...

No...I can assure you it’s the Brit scone = USA biscuit , which are the same thing. Though “biscuit “ here is not quite as sweet. NOT that scones are sweet...but you know what I mean. Happy work day Rita. Still praying for that nasty tooth!!! Have a good one... x

Ah, another “Stranger in the night” if I remember correctly you are in Texas ...an hour ahead of us, 4am for you... ....most of my very close friends this side of the pond are Texans . We here also , are into Oil in Alberta .... It’s the consistency of Grits which I could never get into. Much...

Being British born and only moving here at age 34 , then, living with dozens of Texans in Community living...Over here, I would say that the equivalent to a biscuit ( for the Brits to understand ) would be a scone , ( NOT with jam and cream) ...they have it here have with a gravy and eggs for...

It was an earlier thread today. My daughter I make a habit of clicking on "New Posts" every time I am here. Scroll up and see the thick black bar New Posts is right above post #1 . ( and @Pearl ) We never get an Alert on any new posts in our alert box, so I always check the new posts above...

Calling on the name of Lord

Good point. I've never thought of it before. :) It seems from scriptures , that it is presumed that we just do it naturally. Gen 26.25 "And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well." 1 Cron 16 "Oh...

    Defending Homosexuality

I had often wondered if they called themselves Gay, or whether they were 'called Gay' by others. Wiki It seems they called themselves gay. I wonder why. Quote:- Terms used to describe homosexuality have gone through many changes since the emergence of the first terms in the mid-19th century...
