"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I've always found it interesting that when someone warns someone about the dangers of lying, stealing, killing, fornicating, etc., Christians call it just that--a warning. But when it comes to the fourth commandment--it's definitely judging.

Wow! You restrained yourself. Thanks. :) Well, strangely enough this isn't the first time I've encountered this argument. I fact, I knew you would, at least, mention this one when I noticed your use of the word "profane." The solution is simple. Is Jesus saying that the Sabbath is perfectly...

    This would be presumption. :)

Other people explain it better than I but, in short, the necessity of surrendering the will to God has to be realized. It has to be impressed upon the mind (heart) by reading and meditating on the promises of God. All heaven has been emptied to provide for the spiritual victory of the poor...

How could this be done? There are people who have enough inherent willpower to feign an excellent character. Just asking. :)

We Need Not See All Points Alike Many commit the error of trying to define minutely the fine points of distinction between justification and sanctification. Into the definitions of these two terms they often bring their own ideas and speculations. Why try to be more minute than is Inspiration...

Sanctification’s Goal: A Christ-like Character True sanctification is nothing more or less than to love God with all the heart, to walk in His commandments and ordinances blameless. Sanctification is not an emotion, but a heaven-born principle that brings all the passions and desires under the...

Sanctification by Faith Our only ground of hope is in the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and in that wrought by His Spirit working in and through us. The righteousness by which we are justified is imputed; the righteousness by which we are sanctified is imparted. The first is our...

Justification by Faith What is justification by faith? It is the work of God in laying the glory of man in the dust, and doing for man that which it is not in his power to do for himself. When men see their own nothingness, they are prepared to be clothed with the righteousness of Christ. As...

Whew, I'm glad I'm not involved in any of that stuff. Thanks for the warning, though. :)

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I'd like to see some Scripture for this position, and I'm sure you have some. ;)

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Again, emphatic, intricate expression (this time coupled with cherry-picking) does not indicate sound doctrine. I know you believe what you say--that don't make it so. It is not in accordance with the whole counsel of God. Sorry. :)

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I believe we are largely of one accord. No harsh Calvinist views here. :)

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

No assurance in this whatsoever. Ambiguous, end-run qualification.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

So He didn't come to be buried, resurrected, glorified, breathe on His disciples to give them the Holy Ghost, resurrect the firstfruits, ascend to Heaven, etc., etc.? 1 Corinthians 15:17 KJV: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:18 KJV: Then...
