In Reference To CyBs Statement of Faith - Christian Forum

I think you would agree that some beliefs are essential to the Christian Faith. Would you still be a Christian if you believe there are many paths to salvation and belief in Christ is not necessary? Or if you denied the Resurrection of Christ? These would be examples of beliefs in conflict...

In Reference To CyBs Statement of Faith - Christian Forum

This could be a good topic for the theology section of the forum. There are disputes about baptism, and what it means even among our members. When it comes to baptism, what beliefs concerning it should be close-handed?

Well, as a Catholic I thought you were suppose to accept all his pontifications.

    A Common Error:

When Jesus spoke the parable of the wine skin, don't you think he was speaking about the new covenant. And if he was speaking of the new covenent, is that not under Grace?

    Christians and guns (2nd Amendment)

We aught to be living for life up there, in heaven. Logically if someone is willing to murder they are going to Hell if you kill them. Their only chance comes with time, that God's grace would catch on in them. The Christian whom they murder is going to heaven. If you are concerned about...

    Christians and guns (2nd Amendment)

It actually makes sense, assuming she is 200% confident every one of her family is saved and they are all prepared to die. If she doubts even the slightest then she should defend her family with deadly force.

    the pope is a heretic..

That took a lot of courage for an avid Catholic like yourself to admit. The truth, like God, is not a respecter of persons.

Please Pray Re: Russia's Proposed law regarding "No Evangelizing Outside Church

Well then... Putin approved the law, it will go into effect on the 20th They are throwing out the baby with the bath water. Similar steps will likely happen elsewhere to stop Islamic terrorism. I even know a Muslim that expects as much.

James and Paul differ in three areas, salvation, prayer, and healing

You don't have to defend your beliefs, but since you started this topic I would think that was your intention. Since you have been offended you take the most convenient way out, which is to call into question the credibility of those that have caused you offence. Your basically saying these...

James and Paul differ in three areas, salvation, prayer, and healing

Are you going to defend your position, or will you continue to embarrass yourself by your arrogance? Your comparing yourself to the martyr Stephen because you are offended. Stephen wasn't offended, he was stoned to death. It is no one's intention to offend you, but the truth about your...

    Angry Christianity?

I am reminded of the old idiom, "Rome wasn't built in a day." I append, "But it only took a week for it to burn." Like the days of Nero the aftermath of this recent rebellion against centralized authority will unjustly be blamed on the Christians.

If machine guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have machine guns

I'm not looking to prevent the Lord's return. My immediate concern in regards to gun control is the pacification of the people. It takes power from the people and gives it to the government. Inevitably that power will be abused.

A Born-Again Donald Trump? Believe It, Evangelical Leader Says

Another question about this story is should we trust the leaders of the Evangelical community? They could be trying to convince reluctant voters he is OK.

    Proof of God's existence

What convinces me the most is not some argument, but personal experience. I've had things happen that would be nearly statisticly impossible without divine intervention. If I remember correctly statistical impossibilities are probabilties less than 1 E -50, the probability of the event...

    Proof of God's existence

I suggest moving this topic to the non-Christian section and merging Village Athiest's posts into it. It would promote better discussion.

    Proof of God's existence

It takes great faith on the part of the Atheist to abandon logic and trust in a shaky theory, all to affirm their hopes that there is no God. But in their mind it is a given that there is no God, their own imaginations are their god of the gaps. They will construct their arguments like houses...

The Catholic Church gets put down a lot, but it was all that could help

The parable in Matthew 24:45-51 seems to support this as well. The wicked servant could be any number of persons in authority over the Church, abusing their power for self interest. Is it any wonder that the reformation happened with Rome's abuse of power?
