    Is The World Flat?

There would be a lot of problems with a flat earth model. If gravity were strong enough to bend light and make some sort of optical illusion, we would all be crushed under our own weight. Satellites would also run into trouble when their orbit flips to the other side of the flat earth.

    The feetwashing

Thanks, There is clearly a deeper meaning implied in John 13:8-10. A separate meaning other than the literal teaching of humbling ourselves and serving one another. If there isn't a deeper meaning then christians that don't practice this rite should be worried. I had thought it meant that...

    The feetwashing

Isn't the feetwashing Jesus did for his disciples symbolic of sanctification?

Too much time in doctrine... Not enough time with the Lord

Unspiritual thinking leads to error and confusion about doctorine. That which is not spiritually discerned from scripture is more or less worthless. This is a danger, and I see it happen here all too often.

    Explain how God can exist

One need not believe every Christian doctrine in its entirety at the beginning. But you need sufficient faith to not give up the search.

Military exercise to make East Coast air traffic collision avoidance systems unreliable for entire m

So it looks like the cause for the disruption will be radio interference.

Military exercise to make East Coast air traffic collision avoidance systems unreliable for entire m

Without air traffic control the planes wouldn't fly. People and politicians wouldn't put up with that. Now if it were for a few hours at night, perhaps it wouldn't cause a big disruption, and could be used for military training. Now that the link works, I see only the air collision avoidance...

    Explain how God can exist

I've considered that the distinction between an atheist and agnostic is in the agnostic's honesty regarding their disbelief. Those who claim they know that there isn't a God can not have the same respect for the truth because they are self convinced. Consider also that love for the truth is a...

    If you disagree why..

We actually get JWs who visit and many do not want to be labeled as such so they keep their background a secret. Now calling someone Muslim who claims to be christian can only be goading.

    A play on words

You are a Christian, don't you believe God? Why look at others? Also why do Christians shoot their wounded? There is no need to call into question David's allegiance to Christ based on these recent posts. Anyways... regarding the topic at hand that post must have been intended to draw on the...

    This Board's Statement of Faith

You judge presumptuously Zeke. It isn't saying someone is not Christian because of the Nicene Creed, that is you lashing out like a puffer fish against a perceived attack. As for this forum being chrisitan, It is so because this is a place where confessed christians come. Now you judge them...

    Does God kill off believers

Suppose you're driving home and keep falling asleep at the wheel. Your front seat passenger doesn't want to wake you. Then you veer into oncoming traffic and are headed straight for a semi truck. Before the collision someone you relegated to the back seat has to reach forward and grab the...

    Does God kill off believers

By the context that appears to be concerning the quality of good works being tested. I don't see that as being applicable. The leaders in the congregation should have rebuked him instead of supporting his sin, that was their responsibility. Then when Paul told them to hand the man over to...

    Does God kill off believers

As I understand it he didn't die in his sin. The congregation turned him over to Satan before that could happen. Perhaps the suffering on his deathbed was intended to lead him to repentance before the end. It also carried a strong message to the church about the seriousness of sin. If he...

    Does God kill off believers

1 Corinthians 5:1-5 "It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has...

    How?

I have reasoned the same. It makes a nice wrapup to revelation. It gives hope for those looking forward to Jesus' return, and a warning to those that don't want him to return and Judge them. A warning to make right with God before they die and it is too late. But an interesting thought...

    Godless chatter

Interesting. Were false teachings considered godless chatter, or did godless chatter lead to the false teaching?
