Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

So you don't believe Matthew 28:19?

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

John the Baptist was already baptizing for the repentance of sins. All Acts 2:38 means is now baptize because of Jesus. But Mark 16 names all three, including Jesus. That is the proper way, but if some only wants to acknowledge Jesus and not the Father and the Spirit, I don't think the Father...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

And @Truther Personally I do not see a disassociation between oneness and trinity. They do not conflict. One God is a triune being. I will not argue with anti-oneness, or anti-trinity people. I can be one with both. God is someone we see in a dark glass 1 Cor. 13. Not until we get to heaven...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I didn't know about the first one until I was in my forties. Mom had me sprinkled at at Presbyterian church and I found the certificate in my baby book she gave me. The following three were all by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ. The missing ingredient was true repentance and being...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

Possibly. I've been baptized four times already. But the last one was the one that God spoke to me and told me, "now be baptized in water." So, yes, I was already His, and I obeyed His voice. The first three didn't count in God's eyes. The Spirit IS the One who acts in behalf of repentant...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I would say, both are necessary. First baptism by Holy Spirit to receive a powerful new nature that makes us empowered over sin. And by our new conscience, then baptism by water is done from that good conscience. You don't bury a live person, only a dead person.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

What I mean by Acts 2:38 is its purpose of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, without which keeping the law is by works and not from a new nature.

    Good Friday?

That is why many make a doctrine of demons out of 1 John 1:8 because they are seeing it with a western mindset when the style of the whole chapter is EASTERN. From 5-10 each verse is in contrast to the one before. That is why 10 and 8 are similar but apart by one verse that applies to both, and...

    Good Friday?

John 9:10-11 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” I think you have a typo.

    Good Friday?

    So what did Calvin say???

    Good Friday?

That is only half a day. A full day is from sunset to the next sunset.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I totally agree. It certainly has been my mission in life. We must be born again of the Spirit; otherwise, we do not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

The problem with Acts 2:38 is most people don't know what true repentance is. They also believe they have the Holy Spirit because Scripture says that is what will happen, but they've never had any experience to go along with it.

Will some Christians be left in the rapture

If there is a pre-trib. rapture as some think, then yes. But they are not dead, but alive through it.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

Really? I had no idea. So am I in a sense.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I'm a Christian finally, and it is BECAUSE OF Acts 2:38 so I don't know why you said that.

    Good Friday?

Your mixing apples and oranges. Jewish culture: Sabbath begins from sunset to sunset as does each day. This is why in scripture Jesus died at the ninth hour which is 3:00 pm counting from sunrise, not the 15th hour counting from midnight. American culture: Sabbath begins from sunset Friday to...

Do you accept this a Biblical fact or fiction?:

Robert, The word, Jehovah, is not found in the New Testament for even the Father, so not a good argument. Who is the child in Isaiah 9:6? 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The...

    Good Friday?

When you need the timing for the Sabbath, the Sabbath starts at sunset and ends at sunset the next day. So Friday at sunset and ends Saturday evening at sunset. Then Sunday starts Saturday evening at sunset, so Jesus rose just after the Sabbath ended.

    Good Friday?

He died at 3:00 pm on Wednesday. The counting is such: Wednesday NIGHT Thursday DAY Thursday NIGHT Friday DAY Friday NIGHT Saturday DAY Saturday NIGHT is actually the beginning of the next day Sunday, so He rose on the beginning of Hebrew 1st day of the week, which is our modern Saturday...
