    the use of OT images

keep my statements in context Randy and they wont be misunderstood. :) Was it the rituals or was there other factors they obeyed?....like kindness to the widows and orphans, like not exploiting your neighbour by not stealing, killing, lying, taking his wife .....you know the rest? Would you...

    Olivet Discourse present or future?

...and so God scrapped the Law?

    Olivet Discourse present or future?

hmmmm. I think if we are satisfied with that answer we are at an impasse in our understanding because 'perfection' whatever that is, also needs to be defined.

and what is it that constitutes 'his righteousness' at the core? do you think this answers the question?

Facts on Rev 20:4 before placing it into a system

You examine the words Arthur a bit like a surgeon examines the anatomy of a hand. However, considering its purpose can be used for kindness or hate, for tenderness or wrath does not enter his dissection. So I would ask, where is the disconnect?

Please tell us how you understand 'His righteousness'......and how the Law or laws pointed to it.

    the use of OT images

I see the Jewish Temple as metaphors for our realities and God's reality ie, salvation from sin and death. The Jews missed the point and unfortunately it appears Christendom at large has done so as well. The sacrificed lamb was not the end of the show in the Temple. It was the start of a whole...

Why are Bible scholars leaving Christianity?

By opaque I mean, attributing to the spirit an ego out of control manifested in false humility....ultimately mundane utterances with vagaries of the imagination, as if born again is thereby validated.

Why are Bible scholars leaving Christianity?

'the spirit' trip is problematic. The great emphasis on spirit and born again is for one, too opaque and and two, self focused. The Spirit never focuses on itself, it is a witness to Jesus whom he points to. The constant talk of 'the spirit, the spirit' is not the spirit of Jesus. No wonder...

    Who Really Are The 144,000?

    ahhhhhhh, such generosity!

Why are Bible scholars leaving Christianity?

Probably not. I'm thinking of the many who lived in far flung corners of the earth in bygone centuries. Those people are not abandoned. God's Spirit is active amongst all peoples through all time.

Why does God prevent many people from coming to faith in Jesus?

The gospel is to go to the whole world before Jesus returns. Jesus draws all mankind. Most of mankind are not interested.

Why does God prevent many people from coming to faith in Jesus?

1 Timothy 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Why put the responsibility on God for men's faithlessness?

    ...

We are but dust Harold who have been around a relatively short time. Satan on the other hand is spirit, one whose existence has probably been eons. I find it hard to even measure that let alone the superior intelligence way beyond the human. It is the dust which Jesus identified with in his...
