    The Crucified Flesh

Did you "hear" what was being said?
  2. L

    The Crucified Flesh

Yes, Israel was God's elect, but in spite of that only a remnant were saved. These things happened unto them for ensamples.

    The Crucified Flesh

Not necessarily. I haven't done a study on the term elect in scripture, but it does seem that sometimes it is a term being used based on God's foreknowledge. Sometimes I think it may be spoken about all believers in a "hopeful" sense, hoping the best, like where it says love hopes all things.

    The Crucified Flesh

Why are you making this about me all of a sudden. I'm certainly not making any claims for myself. On the contrary, I am seeking to grow and be ready for the return of Christ.
  5. L

    The Crucified Flesh

Yes, if I endure to the end and don't fall away.

    The Crucified Flesh

1Co 4:4 For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.

    The Crucified Flesh

I belong to the Lord and He is with me, but I don't take it for granted.

    The Crucified Flesh

Hebrews 6 is talking to believing, Christ-following Jews....but in context of growth if we look at end of Ch 5 and Ch 6 together, not specifically in context falling back into being under the Law, though that is a danger as well and certainly one way a believer could fall away.
  9. L

    The Crucified Flesh

Yes, it is, I believe. It's talking to those who were still on the milk and "by now ought to be teachers" (end of Heb 5 chapter)....they had to be believers. And what's more I believe it is warning against falling away in context of those who fail to grow and go on to perfection. Jesus is not...

    The Crucified Flesh

Brother....if any would hypothetically be "crucifying to themselves Christ afresh" they had to have been born again believers to start with, since Christ was once crucified to them. Some of this is just common sense if we take a step back and look at it with fresh eyes.

    The Crucified Flesh

I don't see how anyone can only be partially reconciled to God....either you are or you're not. Either repented and turned to God or not. I don't know what conclusions gifted men and scholars have concluded, I'm not educated in that regard, but I just try to hear what the Spirit is saying in...

    The Crucified Flesh

Yes, He foreknows those who are His, who will remain in Christ and endure until the end.
  13. L

    The Crucified Flesh

It It's the former. Clearly if it's impossible to renew those who have fallen away back to repentance, then they had to have repented to begin with. I just take the scriptures as they speak....even the parable of the ten virgins warns us. They were all virgins (ie, betrothed) who had lamps...

    The Crucified Flesh

It includes those who are born again believers. But the term elect might sometimes be referring to those the Lord foreknows will remain in Christ until the end. This is why Jesus said the false christs and false prophets would deceive IF IT WERE POSSIBLE EVEN THE VERY ELECT. Some believers...
  15. L

    The Crucified Flesh

Then you are contradicting yourself. ;) "Impossible to renew them to repentance" has to mean that they had repented to begin with, but later fell away.
  16. L

    The Crucified Flesh

Brother, I think the falling away that is being spoken of in that verse has to be more than just the committing of a single sin, or even of backsliding, which people have been restored back to the Lord from according to many testimonies. I think it must be speaking of the seed of the word...

    The Crucified Flesh

What about this warning? - Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick (ie, lampstand) out of his place, except thou repent. What does a lampstand/menorah represent? It...

    The Crucified Flesh

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    The Crucified Flesh

ok, I see, thanks. I'll have to come back, my brain's getting tired already and I'm late getting dinner started.

    The Crucified Flesh

I don't know about that brother....it says what it says. It's specifically referring to those who have come to a knowledge of the truth, ie, believers.....who will receive the same judgment as unbelievers if they keep on willfuly sinning.
