    Heart Talks on Holiness

I just put that person on ignore. Hopefully that will help. Never felt I needed to do that before, having been on forums since 2006, but it's just never ending and beyond the pale. It's so ironic that those who are promoting and talking about holiness would be respecters of persons and so...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

Think we need to understand though, that His ways are not our ways. God's love is not on the same level as what we humans think of as love, at all. And then there is the question of what happens when someone rejects His offer of love.

    Heart Talks on Holiness

I might be able to help a bit with this paradox. There is a difference between literal and spiritual truth. We are to count/reckon ourselves to be dead to sin and crucified with Christ. BUT, just as the spirit of the prophets is subject to the prophets, ie, they can choose to yield to the...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

It's too bad, I was hoping that discussion on this thread could avoid all this toxicity. We were doing fine here until today. I really wish we could stick specifically to this topic of what is being called a "second blessing" and declare a cease-fire from ad hominem comments.

No, not judging in the sense of condemning, but judging in the sense of discerning and applying what is needed for the situation. Are you familiar with the verse that says we are to judge those inside the church, but not those outside. Not condemn but discern and act or speak accordingly.

And once again, DISCERNING AND CORRECTING IS NOT JUDGING.

    Heart Talks on Holiness

Don't I.....? You must not be hearing a lot of my posts. What is the double portion all about, that Esau essentially fell from ( for the same reasons that false prophets are fallen. Pride goeth before a fall.....the flesh is a hungry hunter and we must never underestimate it in ourselves)...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

Actually there is some hope for Esau after all, and I'm glad for it, because I have truly always hated sad endings! :) Not to regain the double portion inheritance of the first born, even though he sought that with tears, but at least in his heartfelt repentance he received some blessing from...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

Amen. Speaking of strongholds. And in a more general way, I think we can equate that with dying to ourselves, the Lord tearing down our old man of the flesh. Other analogies include "break up your fallow ground and sow not among thorns"....have to prepare the soil and get rid of all the old...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

I don't agree with your take on that. You first of all need to reach a level of maturity through growth. And then how can someone "ungrow" what has been grown up into. BUT you CAN fall away. Like Balaam is an example, whose gifting had gone to his head and then he began to use it for his own...

    Heart Talks on Holiness

The concept of growth is all over the bible, and harvest is the culmination of growth. I don't think we can ignore that, especially when scriptures explicitly talks about "growing up into Christ who is the Head". And increasing. And adding to our faith...etc, etc...I mean growth is just...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Hoo boy...much ado about nothing. Nothing Jim. Amigo was just reiterating his previous sentence. Just like I did. ;) Really should have used a comma I guess.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

How about applying that to those who are trying to correct his error and false gospel? You are being biased and blind.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

@VictoryinJesus This quote in my e-mail inbox won't link to your post and I haven't been able to find it so I'm just copying/pasting it: I don’t see this in Paul’s sitting with one who was weak and without the knowledge of by the body of Christ you are free of the law of jealousies and the...

Sister you are blind if you can't see how Epi treats those who disagree with him.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I don't want that......I was simply pointing out an inconsistency in someone who apparently doesn't tolerate ranting very well.....selectively. Amazing how you twist everything in order to give you an excuse to accuse. That isn't honest. Not good fruit. Red flag. All those scriptures I gave...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Well, all I will say is that I can't help but wonder why Jim B doesn't go after you for your rants. Don't you know that holiness involves being separated from the world in order to be separated unto God? I mean, that's what it means pretty much - consecrated, set apart for God. Friendship...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

His jealousy requires that we not be spiritual adulterers, having one Husband but sneaking around with other lovers at the same time..... serving other 'gods' while trying to serve Him at the same time. In other words, He wants us to be fully consecrated to Him, not serving two masters. Not to...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Saves any who are willing. From any corner of the globe and out of any false beliefs. Just as I myself once was lost but now am saved. I certainly do believe in that power to walk as Jesus walked. Am also aware that Satan brings his counterfeits of what is true. Absolutely we are to die to...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

What is clear to me is that you are not a Christian, sadly. You're bringing another gospel. To you, Jesus Christ being the Way the Truth and the Life is being Pharisaeical. ..and unfortunately he's drinking his own kool-aid.
