I have a question that remains unanswered:

Again, your declaration does not make it so. It's different because you can't build a doctrine on one text.

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Free will has to have been a calculated risk. God does not let one of His character traits overrule another.

I have a question that remains unanswered:

How do you think sin was able to arise in a perfect universe? :)

    Can the Soul Die?

Sour grapes. You're funny. Sure, I admit I could be wrong, but I've never even heard of those interpretations. It was dark outside when I was born, but it wasn't last night. Give me a break. "Another part of the land." There's certainly no more evidence of that eisegesis than that he was taken...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

I'm not sure why you say remembering the brass serpent would help me. It was only a type/shadow of Christ, not Christ Himself, right? :)

Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?

Too bad for the rest of us.

    Can the Soul Die?

Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. And you are way too arrogant for that. I don't care how big your library is.

    Can the Soul Die?

Mose was privileged with a special resurrection (Jude 1:9 But even the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous charge against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!") and Elijah never tasted death--he was translated. Kind of...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

I thought, perhaps, that this question was going deeper than the sin thing. :)

I have a question that remains unanswered:

You're holding out on me, John. What presumptions? :D I'm not sure I believe in ATs the way I think you mean it. Except that Christ is Truth (and the Way, and the Life, of course). I've got a theory but it involves what folks call trinitarianism, I guess. The Father, Son, and Spirit were...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Unless they're not We are one? People don't say that in this context--they say "We're of one mind." Your declaration doesn't make it figurative. Scripture is to be taken literally unless other interpretations are indicated. I don't take any one text as explicit or conclusive as teaching that...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Yes, but sin began in Heaven. God fashioned His creatures with free will and a measure of creativity, which Lucifer used to craft pride. The origin of sin cannot truly be explained. To explain it would be to excuse it. Why? Because creatures who are programmed to love can't really love...

Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?

To whom do the ten commandments belong? :)

Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?

I thought sanctification was imparted righteousness. I hate to make the distinction too often because people tend to think you can have one without the other, which is not true. :)

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Every particle of sin and suffering arises from the distortion of the character of God.
  16. BarneyFife

I have a question that remains unanswered:

I'm not arguing or trying to prove anything. I'm just wondering aloud what purpose the statement serves. Can't you lighten up a little? :)

I have a question that remains unanswered:

You didn't give me enough time. Don't trouble yourself. I believe you. What does it matter anyway? All who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. I wouldn't consider that real persecution anyway, would you? :)

    Can the Soul Die?

Interesting theory. Truly, every wind of doctrine is blowing. I'm just a seed-sower. :)
  19. BarneyFife

Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?

    Aren't you clever? ;)

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Maybe He subordinated Himself? Does it have to specify The Father? Because His Father is the only true God. All this seems counterproductive since I'm not inclined to defend the Trinity doctrine nearly as much as you are to debunk it. I'm not going to make an argument that you haven't heard...
