    Name some characteristics of a lukewarm Christian

    That's right. They are not interested in knowing the full council of God. I'd wager they all have bibles but have never read even a quarter of it.

    Name some characteristics of a lukewarm Christian

    Like Ol Jack above mentioned, there are the 1 hour a week Christians who are too selfish to give any more of themselves to God than that 1 hour. These are the same ones that make themselves out to be religious, and to adhere to biblical principles. They get divorced, practice adultery, say...

    Do we have to present ourselves to God in everything?

    The way I see it, if it wasn't for the spreading of the gospel to the lost God would have saw fit to remove us from this world ASAP. Imagine if anyone that accepted the gospel immediately dropped dead... I doubt there would be many takers for the gospel.

    Name some characteristics of a lukewarm Christian

    My observation is that their religion is selfish.

    Do we have to present ourselves to God in everything?

    I'd say yes to all questions but one: what do you mean by dabble in the world?

    The Walking Rocks

    My first guess would be that high frequency earthquakes move them, much like that old electric football game with the vibrating board.

    The Donkey Sheriff says;

    Now I understand why its called apologetics. I've always wondered what I have to apologize for, how many times did Jesus apologize to the people he ministered to...

    The Donkey Sheriff says;

    Are you aware that Revelation 14:6-7 refers not to the gospel of Jesus Christ, but of the gospel of the fear of the Lord. This gospel has been known by man since Adam and Eve hid their nakedness from him.

    Righteousness of faith?

    Ya lost me there, way over my understanding atm. Our righteousness is not our own, but we are actually partakers in Christ's righteousness. To increase in his righteousness it seems necessary to get to know him better. The Word speaks of him and the poor and the repressed, widows and orphans...

    Are there any Holy Ghost Tongue Talkers in here?

    Hebrews 4:15 shows us that Jesus is able to empathize with us, I believe it is because he is fully man. I think that empathy is also what 1 Tim 2:5 is pointing towards.

    What Bible Translation are you using?

    FYI, I've moved Moved DanielGarneau's post and Stan's response to the KJVO topic, as I want to avoid those discussions in here. Happy posting. EDIT: I've moved a bunch more posts about KJVO to the KJVO topic. Please keep these disputes about bible versions elsewhere, this topic isn't for...

    Is the Biblical concept of "Truth" that abstract - definitions?

    The 3rd cross shows the hard Truth. Unless you believe in Jesus and repent you will perish in your sin, and will not enter his rest.

    KJVO?

    The numerous errors in the KJV preclude it from being the only source for knowing God's word. God's word is infallible, Some people can't accept that they don't have a perfectly accurate rendition of God's word. They gain some sense of superiority because they think they hold the infallible...

    Righteousness of faith?

    I believe this bares further study on how one can increase in righteousness. Is this done simply by learning the word and obeying the commandment of agape?

    What Bible Translation are you using?

    I primarily use the Holy Bible, New International Version. And I'll occasionally use the Holy Bible, King James Version. I find each version lacks in some ways, but by comparing the two you can easily find the conflicts which bare further study. No English version of the bible is the...

    I want to say that I really appreciate having Randor as a warrior for Christ, fighting on the front lines.

    Plastics

    What do they say about assumptions? btw: you don't have to answer that.

    Plastics

    I have a solution to both problems. Bury our radioactive waste in landfills with our plastic trash. The radiation will breakdown the plastics, quickly making them brittle and they will fall apart. I think worrying that we will irreversibly destroy the planet shows a lack of faith in God's...

    Can You Be a Democrat and Be A Christian In Todays World?

    While I am known for being facetious, this is not one of those occasions. But you don't have to make a list, it should be quite obvious the republican party is evil. I do hold that it is less evil than the democratic party. However this is all meaningless, as God is not in either party. I...
