from the song's wiki "In the song, Michael Stipe sings the lines "That's me in the corner/That's me in the spotlight/Losing my religion". The phrase "losing my religion" is an expression from the southern region of the United States that means losing one's temper or civility, or "being at the...

I fear that all our redistributed wealth is counted for naught and is an unacceptable sacrifice. Fortunately the government is extremely inept, so there will still be much to do for our neighbors as we move towards a more socialist society. This is when we need to go the extra mile, as Jesus...

I think I would rather have a single payer system than this convoluted mess. Obamacare is only a wobbly step towards a single payer system.

I would prefer if there were no Ethanol mixed with Gas. I can think of nothing more wasteful than burning our crops. The US deserves an energy shortage.

We should be able to set aside an hour every week to glorify and worship the Lord alone. In the worship service I want to worship in fellowship in a time that should be spiritual. Veterans have labored and sacrificed getting little in return and many want recognition. So render unto Caesar and...

Luke 6:35 "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." Do good not only for your enemies but also for your brothers...

Here is some more context: "1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils...

And please continue to pray if your reading this.

If there is no cause for the election, there wouldn't be a disproportionate number of believers from a humble background 1 Corinthians 1:26-29. This isn't to say that humility is a formula for being one of the chosen. God can see into the heart, so it is possible that one who is consumed by...

Rather than derail this topic I have posted in another concerning predestination.

I will continue this discussion about predestination here because it is related to this topic. God with his foreknowledge is able to choose those whom will persevere. I don't believe that the choice God made before the foundation of the world concerning his elect was done in a vacuum. He knew...

Matthew 20:16 "So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." Here is my reasoning regarding this verse: The calling doesn't require free will, the answering of the call does. Those who answer the call are on the path of the chosen. Should those on the...

I would ask that you stay on the topic of your OP. I disagree with your interpretation of Matthew 5:37 and if you would like to discuss it please make a new topic.

Cosmic dust isn't stationary in space with all celestial bodies bombarding into it. Dust has velocity too, and is likely in an orbit. A body may only slow down if it encounters resistance in its direction of travel. But consider the moon orbiting earth, it will encounter the dust along the...

Yet fallen angels would have survived the flood because they are spiritual beings. The daughters of men also would have survived the flood as evidenced by your being alive. So what is to keep the Nephilim from being born even today? Jude 1:6 "And the angels who did not keep their positions...

A biopsy has confirmed the presence of cancer. Please continue to pray.

Here are a few examples of what I was thinking about. 1 Kings 18:46 1 Samuel 17:49 Acts 28:5-6

Please pray for my cousin-in-law in whom a growth has been found. The growth is being surgically removed soon, but we don't know if it is cancerous yet. 1. Pray for a successful removal of the growth without complications. 2. Please also pray for a complete cure for any cancer if it is...

What about a color for verses where God empowered someone to do something they wouldn't have been able to do on their own?

The quote from the article article is "Each of us has a vision of good and of evil. We have to encourage people to move towards what they think is Good." Consider that the Pope was addressing a Catholic which he assumes to already be saved and wants to know how to better discern between right...
