- It's tragic when the whole 81 years of someone's life was frittered away in vanity and ribaldry while passing the time waiting for transportation to the next level of their existence. And though Rivers' religion of choice was Judaism, she really didn't think much of it. Had she taken it...

I don't think you're dumb; but I do think you're dishonest and lack integrity; because you're unable to admit to your private thoughts about God. Buen Camino /

- Why Didn't God Prosecute Cain For Murder? According to the covenant that God instituted with Noah after the Flood; murder is a mandated death offense. (Gen 9:5) The death penalty for murder was included as a statute in the covenant that Yhvh's people agreed upon with God at Sinai as per Ex...

- †. Ecc 7:4 . . The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. Some may feel that Hell isn't an appropriate topic at a funeral. But I think that, other than Xmas and Easter, you couldn't pick a better time to bring it up, since according to...

May I assume that your own human intellect agrees with Foreigner's friend? When it came to rhetoric, Job's friends were as fluid as the Columbia River; but when it came to sympathy, they were as dry as the Atacama in August. "I have heard many things like these; miserable comforters are you...

I was in the 101st Airborne Division during the Cuban missile crisis back in 1962. We were fully combat ready to be on C-130 aircraft within one hour with parachutes headed for Cuba. I was only 18 and the prospect of death at such a young age made me very nervous. But as scary as that was, the...

- It puzzles me why the Bible's God would paint such a black picture of Himself if He's really trying to win souls via the love motive. I mean; everything your friend said is true. The Bible's God comes across as a psychopath for whom all forms of life-- human, bird, animal, fish, vegetation...

- Q: If Christians can be de-saved on earth by their conduct; then why can't they be de-saved in heaven by their conduct? Does God have a double standard-- one for Christians in this life; and another for Christians in the next? Buen Camino /

There is some confusion abroad over this issue; because of this statement: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matt 10:28) In other words; the "hell" in that verse kills both the body...

- I recently watched an educational series on NetFlix called "The Inexplicable Universe: Unsolved Mysteries" hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson Ph.D. director of the Hayden Planetarium. He said, in so many words; that in the study of Physics, one must sometimes abandon common sense and simply accept...

- Why Was Cain Rejected? The traditional explanation focuses on the two brothers' offerings. But in this explanation; we're going to focus on their character instead. †. Gen 4:2b . . Abel became a keeper of sheep, and Cain became a tiller of the soil. Both men worked at honorable professions...

The Great White Throne event depicted at Rev 20:11-15 is only for the dead. The living won't be involved in it. †. John 5:24 . . I assure you: those who listen to my message, and believe in God who sent me, have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already...

- From what I gather, the final Hell will be a tourist attraction. †. Isa 66:22-24 . . All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month. And as they go out, they will see the dead bodies of those who have rebelled against me. For the worms that devour them will...

I am not at liberty to tailor the application of Christ's wishes to accommodate the internal affairs of modern churches. My only concern is that everything Paul taught reflected the Lord's commandments. †. 1Cor 14:37 . . If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him...

Judaism is not a race of people like Eskimos, Pygmies, Aztecs, Arabs, etc. No; Judaism is a religious philosophy right up there on the chart with Christianity, Mormonism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam, et al. I want to make it very clear that post #1 does not denigrate Jews; it denigrates...

The story about which you inquire is located in the book of Genesis. Had you read it, you would have readily detected that up to that point, God had not yet informed Abraham that Sarah would be the mother of the son who was to follow in his footsteps. BTW: "as wife" is the description of a...

- Ms. Rivers' religion of choice was Judaism; and if you're a Christian reading this I shouldn't have to tell you what that means. †. John 14:6 . . I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me. Heaven is sometimes depicted as the peak of a high...

The first verse merely reveals the origin of the cosmos without going into detail; sort of like a children's story that begins with "Once upon a time". But before one even begins to interpret the time elements involved in the creation story; it's very important to be aware that the Hebrew word...

What you've labeled a "reference" to a Purgatory is actually an allusion to a Purgatory. Seeing as how there are no clear-cut mentions of a Purgatory in the Bible, the Church has constructed its purgatorial doctrine upon passages that suggest the possibility of one. One of the Church's...

- I enjoy watching scientific documentaries on NetFlix because from them I gain a better understanding of God's handiwork. Here's what I mean. Light has several meanings and applications in the Bible; but the light that most people would like to know about is the energy that God created in the...
