    The Tyranny of Politeness

I thought this link was a meaningful well thought through discourse.

    Seventh-day Adventist

Have you considered that it is possible to be 'biblically' correct yet relationally distanced from God?.....and visa versa, one can have their understanding of doctrine in a muddle but their hearts are in the right place.

Do you feel your sin just as I feel my sin?

We all fall short in many things. I suppose that's why it's a good idea not to assume the role of teacher. We ask for greater understanding and God usually teaches us from our own experience. We are to keep our ears and eyes open before we engage our mouth with half baked knowledge.

    What does "born again" mean?

It is an awakening tl_p. ....and just as in a physical birth in that it is the beginning of understanding, so is this awakening to learning a new reality. For some it is a marked event, for others it is by 'osmosis'; they can't really put their finger on when it started.....but it is just as real.

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

You sound like you consider yourself some sort of a judge with your demands. If you are incapable of reading between the lines of what I've written and drawing an accurate conclusion, how will you ever read between the lines of what Moses wrote?

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

Swords are carried in the hand not the mouth. How then are we to understand the sword in the mouth metaphor? Isn't it the word of truth?

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

Moses was resurrected at some point after his death. I draw that conclusion from him appearing on the Mt of Transfiguration with Elijah....so I guess he was resurrected well before those who were resurrected at and with the resurrection of Jesus.

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

It was Moses who wrote these accounts and God gets held responsible for these happenings as he is for other happenings. Moses saw God as an uber Pharaoh. Do you know what I mean by that? Just as Moses thought God was responsible so the people thought Moses was responsible.....for not having...

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

No, not in the desert but rather at the resurrection of Jesus. Matthew 27:52

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

You do not understand the context of figure/ symbol I doubt it. Then you have an unstable Jesus.....schizophrenic?......and an unstable God......one you need to appease because you never know when you're going to cop it.

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

It is a misunderstanding and a misapplication. Consider what these words of Jesus might mean... John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. John 16:8-11 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of...

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

ohhh? you don't think Moses was and those whose graves were opened and came out when Jesus was resurrected?

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

FYI, 'first born' means preeminent. It doesn't mean he/she who is physically born first. Example; Esau was born first but Jacob was preeminent.....Ishmael was the first son of Abraham but Issac was preeminent.

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

whatever answer I give you T77, I doubt you'll be content unless I quack as you do but I will say this, The purpose of scripture is to testify to Jesus with Jesus being the full revelation of what God is like, ie his character..... which ultimately was shown on Calvary. When we come across...

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

Ask yourself this question, would God condemn the methods of the enemy and then use the same tactics?

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

:)....how else would you kill children....are there options? Don't you find the language peculiar?....firstly, Jesus killing children and then the strange way of putting it. In its context could it be saying other than what you imagine it is saying? Oh, and the money changers in the temple...

We’re the two witnesses from the past?

We interpret everything ewq....even the language we speak is a collection of sounds which needs and gets interpreted by our brain in order to make sense of them. That which is unfamiliar does not compute. I think you would understand that? I have come to know Jesus; he is not violent. He...

False Teaching: Mary died a virgin. Biblical Proof Mary had children.

...Mary died a virgin. ... virgin' on the ridiculous!

The (potential) Treachery of Doctrine > My way, or the highway >

Wheat and tares grow together. Some are obvious, others not. Logic does not make me fall in love, there is another factor. It is falling in love which is God's objective. Being in love shifts everything......everyyyyyything! Let those who talk about love live in their own skin.....and those who...
