    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

Why did that allowance for men to have more than one wife not continue in Christianity?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

Another question. Why did God allow multiple wives for a man, but not in the beginning, nor in Jesus' day? And why did God allow women who were NOT wives, but mere concubines, to bear children for men, but now that is adultery?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

So just to be clear, you believe a woman can never divorce or remarry if her husband lives, no matter if he committed adultery, but a man can as long as the divorce was for sexual infidelity. Yes or no?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

According to Matthew 19 I believe Jesus is saying that remarriage is okay if the divorce was due to SEXUAL INFIDELITY, not just because they don't get along. Thus the words, "except for sexual infidelity." But according to Mark 10:11-12, Jesus is equalizing the man and woman, and not making...

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

I still sense that you feel it is okay for a man to remarry, but a woman must wait until he is dead, no matter the cause for the divorce.

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

widows and divorced are two different things. How can you say they are the same when the word is clear, the spouse is living in the case of divorce, but not in the case of a widow.

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

Then how do you explain Mark 10:11-12 if the man is free and the woman isn't?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

That still is a compromise to what is actually written, and thus lukewarm. How do you really believe God looks at it? Does He stoop to our compromise, or is His word truth?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

According to NT which trumps OT, I believe they BOTH must wait. Mark 10:11-12

    Jesus and Commands

I know you disregard The Epistle of Barnabas but check this out. Commands not in the NT, 2 of which are not in the whole Bible. Barnabas 19:5 Thou shalt not doubt whether a thing shall be or not be. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain. Thou shalt love thy neighbor more than thine...

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

The Bible says we may divorce. But no where does it say that automatically means re-marriage. It actually says, remarriage after divorce is adultery. That is the point of the OP. Are we compromising, or adhering to God's actual word.

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

So what about the woman if her husband is unfaithful...can she also marry another, or must she wait until he is dead?

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

"there is nothing "sinful" about that person getting re-married," even when the Bible calls it adultery? The last time I looked, adultery is a sin.

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

I would say that is true of homosexual marriages, or between a human and an animal, but not between two unbelievers, or even an unbeliever and a believer. 1 Corinthians 7 tells the Christian to NOT leave such marriages. If what you say was true, Paul wouldn't have said to stay.

    Is Remarriage after Divorce, Adultery?

In today's Church it is deemed alright to remarry after divorce by many. Some say only if adultery was involved is the innocent party free to remarry. Old denominations such as the RCC say divorce is not possible under any circumstances. I'm curious how much of our mindset is from the...

    Jesus and Commands

I'm going back to this post where you got it right, then jumped back into the letter of the law. The letter of the law kills. Letter of the law - literal rest Spirit of the law - spiritual rest Our spiritual rest that is referred to in Hebrews 4 is entering into God's rest. It is not one day a...

    Jesus and Commands

But that's NOT what Hebrew 4 is talking about!!! You are seeing it through tunnel vision and what you want to see. But if you would clear our all that denominational garbage you could see what the Author meant.

    Jesus and Commands

Impossible, as a weekly observance. Eternity has no time. That is the point. What the Sabbath represented is eternity itself, and was part of the covenant that was broken, and a new day proclaimed. That was fulfilled in Jesus, and why we keep His day, Sunday, which points to the eighth day...
