    Yes. How about you?

    Jesus and Commands

Let me ask you something. Hebrews 4 talks of entering into God's rest. Do you honestly believe that God's rest is the 7th day Sabbath, or something else?

    Jesus and Commands

Are we under the Old Covenant or the New Covenant?

    Jesus and Commands

As I said, the Sabbath is the first holy convocation listed in Leviticus 23.

Freedom to self-govern? Is that what you think the Law of Liberty is or that I believe? I've never said anything like that. The liberty in the Law of Liberty is freedom/liberation from SIN. We are no longer slaves to sin to fulfill its lusts. The Bible is quite clear about that. Haven't you ever...

    Jesus and Commands

Are you making a general statement or implying I don't believe Jesus is the God of the Old Testament? What I said, was the Ten Commandments are attributed to the Father of the "Father" person of the Trinity. You believe in the Trinity don't you? I did as an Adventist. That hasn't changed has it...

    Jesus and Commands

"My law" is the eternal law of God - the Royal version. The Ten Commandments were based on them, but not all of it. Not the portion that makes one perfect. It is the Royal law that is written on the heart. When you obey it, you automatically don't break the Ten Commandments, but you DO much more.

    Jesus and Commands

There is a pattern there found in Hebrew writings - a style of writing called the Semitic writing styles. In Colossians 2:16 read it again with this in mind. So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 1. festival - YEAR 2. new moon - MONTH...

    Jesus and Commands

Actually, though Jesus and the Father are one, and Jesus was there in the desert, the Ten Commandments (1) in Scripture are attributed to the Father, so as to not confuse them with the Commandments of Jesus to believe on Him, and to love one another (2). 1 John 3:23. John 15:10 If you keep My...

    Jesus and Commands

Seeing as the Ten Commandments was the old covenant, NO! Nor are we allowed to break them. We are obligated to reach a higher standard than the bottom line of the 10C or foreshadows, and enter into the New Covenant and the Law of Liberty. By doing so, we automatically do not break any of the old...

    Jesus and Commands

Sin started on earth in the Garden of Eden, and all heirs of Adam inherited a sin nature. While man still had that sin nature God instituted His laws to guard them UNTIL the sin nature could be taken away by Christ. The laws were holy, but the nature trying to keep them wasn't, and as Romans 7...

    A Place For Christ

You've had many responses to your post. You need to address those individually as to what you agree with or disagree with and why. Manners.

    A Place For Christ

Yes, absolutely. The Bible distinguishes between types of sins, so I will also. 1 John 5:16-17 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray...

    Jesus and Commands

Still side-stepping the question I see. You must have some opinion of what Paul meant in Hebrews 4 of entering into God's rest. What is it? What is entering into God's rest?

    A Place For Christ

You have to ask yourself why Jesus wrote a letter to the age of the Reformation, called Sardis, and called it the dead church. It is the most dangerous doctrine in the Church and will lead many to hell. But it also says not everyone holds to the false doctrines that contradict the written word...

    A Place For Christ

I've had many debates with Calvinists on the forums over the years, and all believe the sins they still commit are forgiven because of their faith in Jesus alone. Obedience to them is a "work" - another twist of scripture. They even hold up Maritin Luther as having said to sin boldly. Paul spoke...

    A Place For Christ

Faith "alone" is not in the Bible; that's the point. The Reformation added the word "alone" to say all you need to do is believe in Jesus and the sins you keep committing are forgiven. No! You don't keep on committing willful sins. That is what is unscriptural, but was a false teaching even in...

    Jesus and Commands

@bbyrd009 I'm glad you like this post, but can you answer the question?
  19. 1stCenturyLady

    A Place For Christ

To no longer commit sin? No. I said: "I agree as long as you mean that when you are dead to sin, you no longer commit willful sins. I am not saying, "He takes away SIN; but you can Still Sin." Just the opposite. The Holy Spirit prevents you from committing willful sin, IF indeed we have the...

WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Is it because you don't know that you are avoiding the question? What does entering into God's rest mean? In Hebrews 4
