    The wrong Cross

It sounds biblical because it uses bible words. And this kind of bible twisting fools a lot of people. But the OP is not about the truth but about spinning the bible verses to mean something they don't mean.

    How God did it.

This is very far off the mark. The OT is indeed about righteousness. And many were declared righteous...so your premise that righteousness was lost is false. You are not understanding what righteousness is. What was lost is holiness...not righteousness. A connection to God. A righteous person...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Yeah...I get this feeling you like saying "walk in the Spirit" :) ....But I'm cool with that! ;) I'm interested in seeing just how much you do understand about this...but you are on point with your comments!

Real doctrine is alive...it's not some list of things to believe or a dogmatic statement. The testimony of Christ is a living testimony. So I eschew all forms of static religion...which is based on a dead idea of God. It puts God in a box. When God is reduced to a religious formula...people then...

LOL. More like the Holy Spirit teaches actual truth and gives actual life which I receive...but you are of the religious dogmatic persuasion and are happy with that. Stay with your religious theoretical grasp of things and ignore the life and power I'm speaking of (which the bible testifies of)...

    The wrong Cross

The irony of the OP is that this is about cross avoidance. As in..Jesus died INSTEAD of me so I can go on living as if He never came to earth at all. In this scheme Jesus is the Lamb of Man....whom we sacrificed for our own sins...one time for all. So Jesus becomes a super sacrifice (supersize...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Of course. I think you misread my statement. Believers can blame the devil for their sins the same way believers can point to a faulty church system and refuse to grow. I'm speaking of the excuses people use to NOT take personal responsibility for their own walks. I was contrasting that with a...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

The church is facing the same problem as black people are in the US at this time. And that is the challenge of what it means to be free. Shelby Steele calls this...the shock of freedom. We want to think of ourselves as enslaved to sin as we always were and as we think we will always be...as...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

For non-believers all you said works. But Jesus came that we might be saved away from our sins...not IN our sins. We are saved IN Christ. In Him is no sin. The idea of a sinful holiness is actually anti-Christ. The spirit of anti-Christ. The devil wants you to sin and call yourself a follower...

So you never stop sinning? ever? In Christ NO one sins. So strive to enter in by the narrow door...Jesus. When I walk in Him I don't sin. When I am walking in my own power...I will sin when the situation is stronger than my walk in maturity. But how many know the power of the cross of Christ...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

You are speaking here of a religious posturing that is without the experience of the power that crucifies the outer man to translate the inner man into the Spirit. So you are just repeating what you have been taught. I do know God. One day...you may find that you are very wrong in your assessments.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

That is why we need to go to the cross and bear His death so that we can go over and abide in Him that knew no sin. If you still sin you are on this side...the carnal side. In Him is no sin. Holiness doesn't tolerate any sin at all.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

The role of the church in society is to point the way to the kingdom...not getting involved in finding funding for schools or deciding which jet fighter does the most damage. Of course we need righteous politicians...but they who are called to holiness need to stay in the God zone to be examples...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

The bible isn't talking about 21st century Americans ...or any other kind of rich Westerner...except where it says...the days are coming when men will not tolerate sound doctrine. To them it will bring on a nausea. :) So we are mentioned in the bible! :) Just not in a way we would like. Can you...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Without the slightest trace of fear or humility all you can do is limit others to your own lack of advancement. I am responsible to God....and you are too. So you will have to wait to see if what I'm saying is true. Is there no one beyond you? Or just people who write books and are popular...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Are you taking about the filthy rags of Christ's righteousness that modern believers say they have? They have exchanged a human filthy righteousness for a divine filthy righteousness? Or the Gnostic notion that while you sin...God still sees you as pure? Anything but taking the truth seriously?!!
  18. Episkopos

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

God sees us as we actually are. There are no rose-coloured glasses on God. And we are doing far less than we ought towards faith in God. We have accepted a worldly expectation rather than a heavenly one. And we will be judged very hard for it. Rejected I fear...because we are not running the...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

That's exactly backwards. A man who has grace does not sin. A man who sins has need of grace. Christians need to go to God for grace rather than falsely claiming to having His grace IN sin. There is no sinful holiness. But there are active imaginations. I am trying to cast these self-exalting...
