The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Normally I wouldn't respond to this kind of post. But this is my thread so I can't allow major errors to go unchallenged. Being born again is only a first step towards a walk that is supposed to lead us into the full stature of Christ. It is not the end of the matter but a very weak...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Well it's more complicated than what can be written here. But people have settled for half a gospel...the parts that are free and that require no cross. So people are looking to gain FROM God. They are in it for themselves. But the whole gospel is about God receiving vessels for HIS use. It's...

Where did you get your idea of saints? From a book? I call it cultural Christianity...because I see only a culture...not a faith. I also say that the present rioting is due to police culture not racism. Police will only respect you if you respect them. If you resist arrest they will upgrade...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

I don't know you so I'm neither going to justify you or not justify you. That's between you and God. But I sense a strong pride in you that is used to getting it's way/ Otherwise you wouldn't be asking me such a silly question. Do you think I care what people think of me?

was Jesus a Pharisee or a Saducee? Did he work with either party to further his goals? Why not? Why would we?

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

I think that in the early church there was a difference between a saint and a newer carnal believer. So it was a maturity thing but not a hierarchy on the ecclesiastical model. It was a role model meant to be for all the brethren...not just a few.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

It's always right to stand in the truth. A follower of Christ represents a different kingdom....not a worldly power. So if that doesn't describe anyone on the forum....what we have is a cultural Christianity. An American style Jesus with a six-gun or an ar-15.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

LOL Of course you agree. The devil rules by dividing gullible humans among themselves. So his house is not divided. But the church is. Politics is about pitting one group against another. You can never get power, fame or money unless you champion one group against another. That's how the devil...

In the bible it's called being worldly. I'm seeing the present unrest with the whole fake racism thing as a cultural backlash with many believers getting caught up in it. There is no example from believers at all...taking sides and all. Kneeling before the devil and molly coddling terrorist...

    My favorite Christian movies

Chariots of Fire Tron (the first one) The Matrix The Big Short (when taken to mean spiritual capital instead of money) The gospel of John

Exactly. And that sin is the most prevalent one in the church today (albeit at a much lower level). Wanting to be identified with the "saved" but yet living as regular sinners. There was a special status for saints back in the day. But today no one is a saint...because everyone is already seen...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

That's false of course. What's the point of pretending to sell all if it doesn't matter if you do or not? They INDEED wanted to appear more spiritual...but without paying the cost. They wanted to be seen as saints...among the saints. Whether people can see it or not there is a standard of...

I don't know anything about taking an oath.

No I used to be in the reserves only...never joined the reg force. And that was many years ago. I quit when I realized that didn't believe in killing other humans. I grew up in army culture...my dad was a career soldier and I grew up on army bases.

The great hatred. It was prophesied in Hosea for such times as these.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

LOL Too true. Yet people who are proud will say you are just trying to act superior. I guess we are to always get the answers wrong...in order to appear humble to people for whom truth is a mere opinion.

Far right: Nazism. Extreme tribalism: hatred for enemies Far left: Communism. Extreme tribalism: hatred for enemies.

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Nothing is evil of itself. It's not the having of something that is evil...it is the love of it. Money itself is not evil. But the love of money is the root of much evil. Sin comes from within a person. So you are making no distinction between using something...for God...or lusting after...

Mount Zion, in the far north

Actually this is a Hebrew enigma...as so many things are in the bible. The word for north..is TSAFON. The word for "hidden" is TSAFOON. So it is just one more play on words. In the Hebrew bible both words are written identically. It is only the pronunciation that is different. And that is by...

The Lord's Side (Remaining neutral and non partisan)

Jesus actually offended people by saying they should go FARTHER than what they are asked to when being exploited by the Romans to carry their equipment for them the one requisite mile. To walk an extra mile. Man, that is SO unlike Western culture. It is impossible for any cultural Christian to...
