You and Illuminator are as bad as each other. It's now become a standard response that when you are shown and challenged regarding an ongoing Catholic practise that is entrenched within the mindset of the hierarchy, is utterly unbiblical and antithetical to everything God has established for His...

I tried Firefox and their AdBlocks, didn't work. In response to one suggestion I downloaded EPIC browser, included their addon AdBlock, and it's working a treat.

Actually, I quoted Catholic sources that stated quite categorically that there is no scriptural foundation for Sunday observance. And I agree with them. 8th day? Give me one biblical example from the NT wherein the 8th day is a day of holy convocation. Give me one example of apostolic...

I think he is suggesting we are descended from dinosaurs. I saw one of those in Jurassic Park 2.

In other words man is immortal? He doesn't 'surely' die? You are aware as to who started that doctrine aren't you?

Oh, that's not the issue. That's just another red herring. The issue is popes' teaching, and the church adopting, doctrine contrary to scripture. Like for example the union of church and state and the use of the state to persecute dissenters.

I'm not talking about an apostolic mandate. Where did that come from? I'm talking about an institution that literally altered the ten commandments to suit it's own agenda, and to harmonize with the popular traditions of pagan Rome. And that change had zilch to do with any perceived fulfillment...

From her most well known book...I suggest you read it... The Great Controversy While the earth was wrapped in the fire of destruction, the righteous abode safely in the Holy City. Upon those that had part in the first resurrection, the second death has no power. While God is to the wicked a...

How about Luke? And Jesus? At least in the Christian era. Acts 7:60. And the story of Lazarus. "Don't worry about a thing guys, he's just asleep. I'm going to wake him up." And Daniel 12:2. Seems to be a fairly common theme throughout scripture... Far too common for anyone to be accusing people...

I wouldn't agree with you over Augustine or Jerome. Augustine (A.D. 354-430) the most renowned writer of the church (probably of all Catholic Fathers, the most adored by the Papacy) was forced by the popular pressure into the views of Jerome, and was in correspondence with him. His complete...

It's called science fiction.

As for the Seventh Day Adventist church being a "cult", or Ellen White a "cult" leader, I'll let her own words speak for themselves. @Behold said the theology of the cross was a tipping point, so here's some statements from EGW concerning the cross. Google is no friend, just a finite resource...

. Not all. 75% of our membership are under 30. No rock music. No concerts. Just good old fashioned Bible study and genuine fellowship.

Yes. The decision makers who had their decisions engraved in infallible stone: decisions approved by series of papal councils, which are also set in infallible stone. I referred to the donation of Constantinea few weeks back, and he thought it inappropriate that I quote from such a document...

No, she didn't. A messenger yes, a prophet, no. She refused any title that would tend to remove Jesus from anyone's focus. Her theology? Are you suggesting she made it up herself, and was the first to teach soul sleep? Ever heard of Martin Luther? " We should learn to view our death in the...

How many Popes refused the civil power when offered? How many Popes have annulled the teachings of Augustine and Thomas Aquinas who I believe both were instrumental in establishing the concept of church/state union in the papacy? You know, the 2 swords theory?

"You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [Catholicsl never sanctify." --James Cardinal Gibbons, "The Faith of Our Fathers," page...

God never overrules our free will. He keeps is by His love, not power

PS. That's precisely why Colossians 2 also bears no relevance to the weekly Sabbath... As it isn't a shadow of things to come as were they other annual feast days.

That section of scripture is actually irrelevant to the discussion. Sabbath was never, and isn't now, a day one has the option to consider personally of more importance than another. The 4th commandment does not offer people that option. So Paul was talking about other days... Days which are...
