    Making plans and knowing what is going to happen are two different things entirely as are prediction and causation. I can predict the sun will rise tomorrow with accuracy but I don't cause it to rise.

    One recognises where ones faith is by the burden of one's heart....ie, what one shares with others....for what comes out of the mouth/ pen is the overflowing of the heart.

    Well seeing you know the number of the beast, not because you figured it out but because it told you (not much wisdom required there) perhaps you can tell us the name of the beast and what it's mark is.....or do you mean to say its number and its mark are the same thing?

    So it tells you to count it, then it tells you what the count is (duhhh to the literalist) further, it applies it to three factors, the beast, the name, the man. Surely this must tell you that the text is communicating more than what is interpreted as overtly obvious.

    there are better ways to interpret prophetic numbers, particularly in Hebrew culture, than literal. With a direct literal interpretation one has no idea what one is missing and how far off the mark one is.

    If we are looking for 'a name' for God we will miss it. 'Name' when it come to scripture mean character......subsequently when God passed by Moses he declared his Name. Everything else just results in lots of meaningless yada yada

    A gift has been given you; that makes you an elect. What you do with it is up to you. You can make any excuse you want just like those invited to the wedding banquet. Their excuses seemed plausible to them so the bottom line was, they didn't get to go to the banquet.
