When any man quotes scripture leading himself rather than being led by the Holy Spirit, isn't he misinterpreting? The words spoken that way have no Life in them, so they are Not the Word of God. The Word of God is always Alive!

@Edward Gordon Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. There is also this: "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." Matt 10:22

Today I have started my liquid diet in preparation for the two tests tomorrow: Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. I won't miss the food, but already I miss my coffee. I am allowed to drink it, but it has been years since I was able to drink it black. I'll skip it for a couple of days. Hopefully they...

She is a character and although small in stature not one to come up against... Early in our marriage, before we met the Lord, we would go into bars, periodically and she would often start a fight. Not wanting her to hurt anyone, I would throw her ninety pounds plus over my shoulder and carry her...

The Trinity

Joining in prayer now for all of those affected by the terrible storms and tornados.

Praying here for you Dad!

My friend, I am 78 years old and serving God as best I can by a daily surrender. I have preached and taught others in churches in the past [last time three years ago] but I have never received a penny from any man for that. If you disagree with my understanding of the scriptures and God that...

I don't believe mjrhealth is deceased. He is simply not on the forum anymore. I still communicate with him periodically... him [as well as with Pia] (both Australians). With regard to this issue, I essentially agreed with him. Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible is like the lifeless body...

Can a sheep go astray? "How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?" And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that...

Remember mjrhealth! He was on this subject continuously on this forum. He's been gone about a year now...

Well, it must be first things first! God's order rather than our own for certain! Give God the glory!

Or... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jesus told us to eat his flesh and drink his blood. The written Bible makes it easy for anyone to the first. Doing the second is where a lot of people, it seems to me, come up short. When we do both then we Live. Is that not important? Without Life do we not remain dead?

Praying for you now, sister!

We are praying for you and yours, sister!

Thank you, sister. Tough couple of days immediately before me and my wife with my tests. We still have no answer and wait on God and the doctors.

@amigo de christo Hopefully all is well with them. Not many people on here I guess even read prayer requests. If more did perhaps there would be fewer requests like this one as we get touch Him one more time. Our God really is able in every situation!

I really have not delved into what men call philosophy in 50 years. You call it philosophical thinking. I call it the voice of God as I talk to Him and read the scriptures every day before doing anything else. What a mighty God we serve! Then there is going to the lowest room empty and letting...
