Yep: Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one. It kinda goes...

To All, People ignorantly debate the "merits" of the Shroud and the Sudarium (face cloth). They use the text -- which has it's own limitation; they use their logic -- which has it's own limitations; but they seldom use Science. And if they do use "Science" they selectively choose arguments...

The discussion is regarding Luke Chapter 22, Verses 35 & 36. In 35 Jesus acknowledges where the Disciples didn't need any provisions while Jesus was with them. In 36 Jesus gives NEW instructions for their OWN SELF SUFFICIENCY from that point on. And we're in the span of "from that point on"...

You use verse 35 to contradict verse 36. That's smart ... o_O Bobby Jo

You use Scripture to CONTRADICT Scripture. Perhaps you should obey BOTH. :) Bobby Jo

EXACTLY, -- and purse and sword. ALWAYS take the things you need, because JESUS will not FALL OUT OF THE SKY to give you what you were instructed to ALREADY HAVE. Bobby Jo

Good start. Now how about the Purse and the Bag? Was the Garden in a Mall? Were there irresistible sales going on which required bringing cash and your own shopping-bags? Last night my wife and I went to a W/M where Plastic Bags are BANNED, so they sell Paper Bags for $0.10 each, except the...

@VictoryinJesus Please feel free to offer an alternate "interpretation" of Luke 22:35-36. Or just throw it out. And please feel free to DISREGARD any other words which Jesus spoke which you don't like! -- Don't be bashful, how about the other writers of the OT and NT? Tear out their...

And so LIKEWISE, we can ONLY predict a CME "in due course of time". So STOP "presenting" what CAN'T BE DETERMINED for ONE and equally CAN'T BE DETERMINED for ALL. Nowhere in Scripture are we given the guidance to make a specific determination EXCEPT for Rev. 13:18. ALL ELSE IS simply History...

Luke 22:35 “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one. Please ANSWER your own question! According...

Romans 3:4 ... let GOD be true, though every man be a liar ... Bobby Jo

Good luck, -- hope you make it through ... Bobby Jo

You certainly treat the Scriptures as a buffet table don't you? Picking and choosing which Verses and which Chapters to accept. So you don't like Rev. 13:18 and you throw it out. But what, -- you accept the rest of the verses, the rest of the Chapters, the rest of Bible Prophecy?!? How do...

I'd rather have it and allow GOD to help me use it correctly. Are nay-sayers and scoffers the same?!? Bobby Jo

I guess that means you don't have to listen to Jesus per Luke 22:35-36. OK. But YOU explain to HIM why ... Bobby Jo

Abraham/Moses, one of those guys! :) But the issue is, -- Why waste effort in trying to defend a CME now? It will be revealed in due course of time. Why anticipate ANYTHING?!? Bible Prophecy is a waste of energy, so WHY IS GOD WASTING OUR TIME with things that HE SHOULDN'T be bothering us...

Interesting that you side-stepped the a/c issue. -- I guess your problems disappear when you hold your hands over your eyes. But even Abraham's arms got tired. Do yours? Bobby Jo

It's NOT written to the Jews, --it's written to the church. And the world's language (which the church uses) is ENGLISH! :) You're entitled to remain ignorant, but please don't abuse it! :) Bobby Jo

Let me know when you get to "heaven", and don't need to worry about your welfare/safety anymore. Bobby Jo

If Jesus said you need "sword" (i.e., firearm) then either obey Him, or DON'T! We all choose, Bobby Jo
