I agree that we do not "deserve" anything from the Lord. It is all the because of the love of God. Salvation is a gift ,rewards are our choice by His invitation... God says " How much of Me do you desire ?" And He has offered us a means of attaining to this invitation to do so...

I agree 100% Amen!! Also agree that kind of fear does bring foreboding with it... If we were supposed to be in fear of God...He would have sent the message when Christ was born of " PEACE on earth, Goodwill to man.." Awe and wonder ...yes, ' fear of'...no.

There is for sure a difference between the anointing upon a preacher and the anointing upon a teacher. An un-anointed teacher can get dry and boring...yet when the anointing is doing the teaching through him...one could sit there for hours... I too enjoy a interactive teaching ... I have...

I confess that I often 'cheap-out' in some threads. I try to read all threads...but obviously some don't interest me. But when I find someone being dominant and pushing their personal beliefs over and over...I then do what we did as kids...= knock on the door and then run away!! Ha! Because...

Don't be nervous. Just jump right it...only a few here bite!! :D You will soon learn who to "side-step" ... As for which translation we use ....many of us quote KJV I always do. But you will find many who don't use it. Off the top of my head I'd say a 50/50 split...there are no hard and fast...

I am not a Calvinist as you are. But some interesting points there. If any faith that we have is God's then why did Jesus says "Have faith and doubt not"...if man has no ability anyway of his own... And why are we told to "choose this day whom we will serve" if we have no choice but have "false...

I’m with @Nancy on this one....if I was fearful of my husband it wouldn’t be a very happy or honest marriage. I know wives who are afraid of their husbands...We are called into union, not fear. Who wants a realationship where the wife only comes to the husband through fear...o_O I can’t agree...
